Panties vs. thongs

This is not only for girls but for guys as well. I know a lot of girls who only prefer wearing thongs or regular panties. What do you prefer mostly?
And for guys - do you find a girl more attractive wearing thongs or just regular cotton panties?

I do not have an allegiance to a specific type of underwear. I'm into lingerie and I have a wide variety to choose from. I wear many kinds and all of them are high quality attractive little numbers. I choose my underwear based on what I'm wearing on top.
They only people I know who go commando and force everyone else to look away from their ugly butt cracks, or who wear thongs that are visible have pathetically little life experience and terrible taste in all things, clothing included.
When it comes to male underwear I prefer boxer briefs - hands down! -
I like cotton, I don't care if it is a panty or a thong as long as it is comfortable

Cotton is a good thing. My mom once bought me a whole bunch of satiny acetate ones b/c they were pretty - boy did those make the butt sweat!

I wear all sorts myself
thongs if I might have VPL!
tight hipster frenchies under a dress where VPL isn't an issue
and of course fancy pants, which generally aren't on for very long.
Of course all us women have our 'period' pants

I don't really care. While attractive underwear & clothing can accentuate beauty, it certainly isn't a necessity...so really, whatever is comfy I'm fine with. -
I go for comfort and practicality. So boycut panties, no frills, iron clad over the shoulder boulder holders are what you'll find me in.
They need to not bunch, not slip, not ride, breathe, and not cause any problems when moving quickly or doing hard work.-
I agree with Anok. Life is too short to wear uncomfortable bras and panties. Uncomfortable doesn't mean unattractive.

i have a couple of thongs that I wear when i've procrastinated too much with laundry, but i hate them. I keep trying to fish them out of my asscrack, I'm sure it makes me look super-classy.

I didn't say my were ugly, just comfortable. Victoria's Secret does may pretty cotton panties and thongs you know! There will be no picking panties out of my butt crack and no VPL!

The sexiest women I've known all had nice lingerie. in all honesty, women are so sensual anyway that just about anything they do just adds to it in the bedroom, but I like a little 'mystery' and enticement first, lingerie does it (after clothes come off, of course, not in public!)
There's also something very sexy about revealing dresses, like the green one on Keira Knightly in Atonement, the one slit up the front (!).. yowie.. that was a "I'm the dessert" dress if I've ever seen one..

I will only wear thongs the smaller the better. I call them ladytreats. -
99% of the time thongs because they're just more comfortable. When I wear dresses I usually wear boy shorts.

Thongs. I consider myself something of an ass connoisseur. Certain types of regular panties can be sexy, too, though. I'm actually not big on g-strings. -

Seriously, though, when pre-op, it was impossible to wear must thongs as there was too little support. Now I don't have to worry about tucking a mal-formed phallus, so I wear whatever is convenient.-

This thread is too funny! My experience is that boy shorts and thongs are for the ladies who are buttless. Anyone with curves has the annoyance of getting wedgies and fabric between their cheeks. I am so not saying which I am, beyond stating I like cotton for comfort.

@busylizzy I disagree! As someone who's body is too bootylicious for you, baby - that's the reason I wear thongs! If I wear bikini underwear, I'm constantly digging them out of my butt!

I of course like thongs on girls, but cotton can be sexy as well. Depends on how the girl show them off -
My ex wife liked thongs a lot (and incidentally she had a nice butt... and by 'nice' I mean big )... her theory was that underwear was going to end up in your butt anyway, so why not just start the day in a thong.
Being classically male... I like seeing as few clothes on a woman as possible... thongs and g-strings are nice... but there is a wide variety of attractive underwear for women... not a fan of boyshorts (they're the underwear equivalent of a pantsuit... yuck!) or super big underwear.
It seems a lot easier for guys, but I'm a big fan of going commando. Unless it's winter, I don't need the extra layer of clothing. But a bold tip of my hat to the women who are willing to go commando... particularly in a dress... wow!
My fiance is absolutely gorgeous, and has a wide variety of lingerie and underwear, and although the individual articles are nice, I notice more and more that how she is feeling is what is really sexy to me... a confident woman who is feeling sexy... is incredibly sexy... sure, my personal preference still plays a role, but seeing confidence in bloomers is much hotter than seeing neurosis in a thong...

For the record though, boyshorts can be cute and sexy. I discovered them last summer, bought one pair, loved it, went back and bought a dozen, some of which have funny patterns (like one hand of each buttcheek!)
Anyway, now that I've tried them, there is no going back. They're just soooo comfortable, and no pantyline!
OK, I think I've said everything i had to say on that topic. now if you will excuse me, I'm off to build a shine dedicated to boyshorts.
