I think everyone's overlooking the possibility that perhaps Paris escaped. I mean, all she has to do is turn sideways and she practically disappears. You can fit through some pretty impressive gaps with a talent like that.

Yahoo news is reporting that she had to leave for Medical reasons... Um, I guess jails don't have health wards? So she's out and spending her remaining time in home confinement for 40 days...
HOME confinement?
If I got to spend 40 days at home, that's called VACATION, not jail.
My lord, I would be so organized in my house if I had that kind of time-- and all the writing I could get done! -
Perhaps if we all simply ignored Paris Hilton she might just fade into the woodwork. Let's send her good thoughts and she might grow up and become kinder.
When people lash out verbally it tends to bring ones aura down. Let's stay focused on how we together can make this world a better and more loving place.
Love to you all. Written most sincerely. -
i have nothing against her actually..it's the fact that any celebrity gets special treatment for committing a crime
-
Exactly! I don't think she's a bad person (of course, I can't say I know her personally), but it's the way celebrities are patted on the head for crimes the rest of us would be locked away like a rabbid dog for is what's annoying...Then and again, if they were all locked us, who would provide us with senseless reality tv programs, MTV and E! Entertainment? LOL!

Do we have any statistics on this one???
How many do actually let get out of jail on medical grounds? Just because it's Paris, it gets to Yahoo homepage.
There could be thousands of criminals every month who are let out of jail on emergencies. And you don't even know nor care about it... just because it's Paris, it's bad?
Paris is fighting a battle. Eveverybody is. -
I'm not a pessisimist, but omg, does this reek of non-sense. She is laughing all the way to the bank, along the way driving drunk and god knows what else. It's more of a slap in the face to all Americans who HAVE to do the time, when they do the crime. It's all a big joke on us. If YOU are not offended by this (not by her, but by this), then their is something wrong with you. IMHO.
Their is a double standard when it comes to crime and celebrities and it is not good. -
I probably shouldn't comment on this one, but I thought hey, I'd give my two cents...
I think that sending a celebrity home on "house arrest" is hardly a punishment. She can have anything brought to her house, she can throw huge parties and is living in the lap of luxury. She should be forced to be in house arrest in a hospital if she's so sick.
End of rant. Thanks for listening. -
Let's face it, if it were you or me, or my 20+ kid or yours with the DUI and all the other charges we would be doing the time. This is about an entirely different set of rules for the Hollywood rich and their children. They are above the law and we are not. Pretty sad statement on American values IMHO.

I agree to some extent, and I think there's a very valid reason.
The Congress and/or the presidential candidates... I mean the government, anyway, has been milking Hollywood for cash forever. So I figure the favors have to be returned?
I read this article only yesterday, quote: "The Clintons have mined Hollywood for millions in political donations over the years. While you may not be influenced over who Heather Locklear likes, her support comes with a check attached."
You can read the full article here:

Interesting too, I think Zakman had asked what the stats were on how many inmates were released for health reasons and sent to their homes for confinement--
On the national news last night they were actually talking about that and said while prisoners do go to hospitals for medical treatment, the amount of them that are released to their homes, where the whole serving time situation is changed as a result is virtually NONE.
Which, we basically knew, but good to hear the national news point it out as well.-
wow thanks for the info ThriftshopRomantic
Virtually NONE where the serving situtaion changes, huh? I didn't know, so of course that's why I was asking.
I was questioning too, and came across a report of how Hollywood and the government is backing each other, and I've posted the URL here (a couple boxes above, in reply to Lainey's comment).

I make it a practice of NOT clicking on anything that says "Paris Hilton" in the hopes that my lack of clicking will make her go away. I gave in here and again on this link, but only because it says she might go back in:
