I just signed up in PayPerPost.com because I was convinced by a blog article that this site is a good source of income in blogging. Is that true?

No... Your blog will turn into a splog (spam blog) and you'll lose all of your readers, then your blog will lose it's popularity.

Although "some" marketers use PPP, savvy net marketers will not because they know that it's not a good form of PR. Blogger Outreach programs (where marketers send product to bloggers to review at their leisure) are far more effective. They are riskier because there are often no guidelines, but much more genuine!

If you want to make money from your blog, keep writing what you enjoy writing and host ads instead. That way you won't alienate or piss off your readers.

You can make real money with Pay Per Post Program but make sure that not all of your blog post is PPP post. When choose the topic from PPP offer, make sure it's relate with the niche of your blog.
One other tips is, post 2-4 PPP post articles/month

Pay Per Post is an excellent source of alienating readers and getting nuked by Google.

When it started I make some money with it, but eventually the requirements for sponsored posts increased and I got less and less opportunities. Also, the payouts per posts decreased significantly. At first, there were plenty of opportuninities that paid $10 or more for a 200-word post, but last time I checked most of them only paid around $1.
Another problem is that putting their posts on your blog will lead to a pagerank decrease. I more or less ruined my old gadget blog by doing so. It's pagerank dropped from 4 to 1 in less than a month!

PPP is in the process of changing their rules as they've started a new, "google friendly" version of PPP. They also did this with Social Spark but that didn't work so well.

I actually have done a really in-depth review on all of the Blog For Pay companies...check it out. Feel free to post it on your blog as well Just link back is all.
