Personally, I hardly consider creamy to be peanut butter at all. I favor Adams crunchy, when I can't go to a store with a grinder and make my own.

How about you?

Crunchy, and Adam's works for me too

Skippy, Jiff, Peter Pan......they all accomplish the "dog trick" equally well.

      LOL! (and, parenthetically....ewww)
    2. Puffmatty
      thats #$@*%ing great, dude!

I much prefer crunchy. There's just something wrong about creamy. (And crunchy is much better for hiding medicine for monkeys in.)
    1. Puffmatty
I know, they never taste the "roofies" coming!
  4. mtchick
    creamy please
  5. crpitt
    I would prefer vomit.

I don't understand the American obsession with peanut butter, it is foul and putting it together with jam is just wrong.
    1. crpitt
Excellent point! It is foul beyond belief.
    2. Unfettered
Heh. I don't know if I would call it an "obsession". Maybe it's because peanuts are native to North America. We happen to like the way it tastes.
    3. mtchick
I can't say I'm obsessed with peanut butter. Obsession is a more appropriate word when referring to chocolate.

Do you not eat peanuts where you're from?
    4. brigid
I happen to like pb&j, but I'm not obsessed. Tastes happen to vary. (I doubt I'd like the taste of roast locust, but I'm not going to complain about the grossness to someone who eats them.)
  7. aningeniousname
So are buffalo's but you don't spread jam on them.
    1. Unfettered
Uh... good point. Kind of like comparing apples and, oh, blood sausage or tripe.
    2. brigid
Now I wonder what that'd taste like. Might be good. (Buffalo and jam, that is.)

      What's blood sausage and tripe?
    3. Unfettered
blood sausage is intestines stuff with blood and then allowed to clot. Tripe is stomach lining
    4. brigid
      ...

Okay. I just lost my appetite for the rest of the day. (Maybe week.)
  8. aningeniousname
    lol urrrrgghhh hate those.
    1. Unfettered
That's funny. I thought they were British obsessions
  9. aningeniousname
I'm not British I'm from Yorkshire, we don't like to associate ourselves with those people. But saying that, tripe and black pudding are very popular here.
    1. Unfettered
I bet you spread jam on them, too. Here, have some Buffalo... in peanut sauce.
    2. crpitt
Some do have jam on their yorkshire puds, you are right
    3. aningeniousname
Yeah, we spread jam on Yorkshire puddings and have them as a starter before sunday dinner.

Here in Hungary, many don't even know what's peanut butter. And by the way, I like crunchy.
  11. clioandme
Either way, but please 100% peanuts and nothing else, not the crap name brands that add oil to thin it down.
    1. Unfettered
I prefer mine freshly ground, too.
  12. garydenness
Peanut butter is a culinary wonder. Curries, Thai and a stir fry just aren't the same without a generous dollop of peanut butter.
    1. Unfettered
satay sauce is one of my favorites.
    2. sultana
mine too... with the satay.. ermmmmmm
    3. Unfettered
Damn. Now I want Thai food. Good thing I live in Seattle.

Darn you, Gary! Darn you to ever lastin' heck!
    4. garydenness
Be grateful, at least in Seattle I'm sure there are decent Thai restaurants! Here, if I want a good Pud Thai, I have to cook it myself...
    5. Unfettered
There are 10 or so within a 1/4 mile of my apartment! I do love this city.
    6. offendedblogger
      OOOH Thai is my favorite.

      The food is alright, too!
  13. Puffmatty
You got your chocolate in MY peanut butter....sounds kinda dirty
    1. offendedblogger
lol dirty and funny and tasty. How sick is that??
    2. Unfettered
      That's my kinda sick!
    3. GlossGreen
Peanut butter, chocolate, and whipped cream. Top that.
  14. Majik
Kraft smooth peanut butter is the best in my opinion.
  15. brigid
Ants on a log. Celery, raisins, and peanut butter. A holiday staple for my family. ^_^
  16. chelsi
Adam's crunchy is definitely the king of all peanut butter.
  17. blogtommy
Creamy for me, though crunchy will do in a pinch. Really never met a PB I couldn't get along with...LOL.

Crunchy, the smooth is like glue!
    1. brigid
      Really goopy, can't-get-it-off-of-my-pallet glue.
  25. JoyChaser
Crunchy all the way, though I'm oddly fond of that creamy peanut-butter that has honey mixed in with it that my local supermarket carries. Granted, if I want honey with my peanut butter, I buy the crunchy kind and just put some honey on my sandwich. Yum.
