Perez Hilton: Victim or Instigator?

No doubt that you all heard of the confrontation and subsequent assault between Perez Hilton and the Black Eyed Peas...

My question: Is Perez Hilton a victim of a crime, or did he instigate it enough to warrant a physical response?

I'm working on a blog post about this, about whether or not he is partially to blame for the assault. Mind you, I'm not condoning the attack, I'm just making a point that Hilton does share the blame in instigating the event, especially after he verbally attacked Will.I.Am by saying "You're not a f***ing artist, you're a f***ing f*ggot!"

I'm interested what the rest of the BC world thinks about this...

OK, I did a quick search, it would seem that the whole thing goes back to a poor review of their new album (by Hilton), and the aggression built from that point on, finally boiling over into name calling and eventually the physical altercation.

This was not an out of the blue attack, nor was Hilton's name calling out of the blue - it was a result of other incidents building up through the night.

The manager (who is the one who allegedly hit Hilton) is scheduled to go to court.

If he did, he should serve his time or fine. Even if what Hilton said was offensive, physical force is an inappropriate reaction to words. Being an asshole is not against the law. Hitting one is.

That's hilarious that Perez called Will.I.Am a F****t. Perez is so over the top and ridiculous. If Will took that seriously, he completely overreacted. Perez is openly homosexual. Why would he call Will that if he wasn't trying to be funny and over the top?

  If you saw Hilton's video blog on the incident, he said the called Will that because he wanted "to set him off." So he wasn't being funny and over the top, he was trying to insult and provoke him.

Will.i.am has gone from "yes we can" to "oh, no he didn't".
I'm shocked to here this about will.i.am, i thought Will was cool and laid back. I will look at him differently now.

  I had read in an article a good point on this, why did he (Willwhoever) risk ruining his good reputation over something so trivial? In a sort of "was it really worth it?" kind of tone.

I think the whole feud is ridiculous and doesn't warrant any attention by anyone. Not saying your blog post idea isn't worth writing because I know a lot of people love this stuff...just for me I could care less what Perez does and the Black Eyed Peas....who were good when they first came out are just a waste of time now too.
