Photographer’s Block: Ideas For An Uninspired Photographer

As a photographer and a blogger, I know the feeling. I just hate it when I have a thousand ideas running threw my head, but it’s just so difficult to get started. Sometimes I just stare at the camera sitting on the shelf gathering dust. There I times when I just do not have the inspiration to make new photos. when I hit the infamous “zombie” mode I do a few things to get my creative juices flowing.
1. Get Inspired
The first thing I do when I need Inspiration is visit sites like Deviantart, Flickr, Photo.net and any other photo communities. It is a great idea to spend time viewing other photographers work for Inspiration. I love finding a photography I love and then try to recreate it.
2. Try Something New
It is always fun to try something new! There are so many different kinds of photography you can try. If you experiment you may just run into something that you love! I was telling this same thing to a good friend of mine. He said, “I already tried everything”. If this is the attitude you have then just take a look a the list below.
Some Photography Genres To Try:
* HDR photography
* Nude photography
* Macro photography
* Long exposure photography
* Photojournalistic photography
* Astrophotography
* Street or candid photography
* Food photography
* War photography
* Kite aerial photography
* Lomography
* portrait photography
* Night photography
* Infrared photography
This list could go on for 30 pages…
3. Go Out And Shoot!
Instead of sitting around waiting for an idea to hit you, spend some time shooting! Go outside and make photos! This is the problem some of us have. If you spend hours reading on how to make photos you will not have any time to make photos.
PRACTICE AND ENJOY

I'm not a photographer but I did want to say that I really appreciate the work you put into this post and the motivation behind it - sharing. Thumbs up! -
Thanks for sharing...I like photography but I just can't find time to get really good shots. I have a Canon 400D DSLR for more than a year now but I can't maximize its features so far.
