      Awww... Shucks.

This is so exciting and I loved the family picture. Keep 'em coming and keep your spirits up. Building a home is stressful and i can attest to that because I've been through it twice.

The worst part is it being as done as it is and not living in it.

I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm not on dial up-- can't wait to see!

Lots of storage space. I tend to over shop for canned food and nonperishables. Those will go under my house.

Looks spacious and good family pic. By next year you will have a nice garden, I'm sure!

I purchased wildflower seeds that can be planted in Nov. and I've been placing rock piles everywhere because I recycle nearly everything. I'm well on my way.

Ah, Shiley that is lovely. I bet you can't wait for it to be complete.

I worked with Habitat in high school and last year The Women Build Committee of Habitat for Humanity in my county, and I bet you now know how to do things all homeowners should know how to do too. I know I learned stuff as a volunteer that I'm sure will be useful forever.

Do you have a complete date?

I know how to fix plumbing, build walls, lay siding, and tons of other things. They think 4-5 weeks. I suspect maybe sooner since they are working on our house exclusively. There is another house in my neighborhood once they got it under roof they came back to our house.

Congrats Shiley. That pic of your child is definitely a face for a postcard. It gave me a smile. I have a friend that works for Habitat for Humanity where I live. That organization does tremendous work in changing peoples lives. Wish you all the best.

It has been nearly a year and a half. We placed our application when I began my first blog, My Thoughts Always. Each completion has been emotional. We completed an 8 week series of homeowner classes. When those ended I was almost in tears it brought us a step closer to our goal. We completed six workshops and again, the tears nearly came, when we reached 500 sweat equity hours and were told we were on hiatus that was the worst of the wait. To know we have accomplished everything and be at a stalemate. Finally, they called us back in to work and each day bring us closer to getting my kids out of a termite, roach, wasp, water damaged and black mold infested apartment. To have the opportunity for a brand new home without those issues is the most awesome thing.

Lol! There was a post or two that was furniture related and I had talked about building a picnic table. Plus I live in public housing at the moment so I blog poverty housing.
