So I'm posting this under 'shameless blog promotion' but even though I think that is the best category for this, I also truly believe the article/blog post serves as an invaluable tidbit of information for anyone planning a wedding or in the wedding industry.
The Knot wedding magazine made a big mistake, and it goes to their credibility as a trusted wedding magazine/website.
I stumbled upon this with the help of a colleague, and I think it's a bit of good reporting... You be the judge.

Good article, and resources.
One step further is, to see if they pay bucks to the Knot for advertising. This may be a reason to put them on the list.
Although that shouldn't be the case, one never knows. People get greased all the time. One good listing like that is bound to boost business.

My sources indicate that it was not a 'paid for' ad but a company The Knot chose... which in some ways makes it worse.
