"Lindsey Baum was walking home in McCleary, Washington from a friend's house on Friday, June 26th and never made it home. She was 10 years old at the time, but has since had a birthday while she has been missing. Police are pretty sure she was abducted but have found no proof of this. Please help spread the word about her and please keep her and her family in your prayers."

I will try to add some pictures of Lindsey later, but I'm not sure how yet, I need to figure it out. I am changing my avatar to Linsey's picture, and we are trying to get as many people to do the same, so her picture is out there and seen by more people. Anyone is welcomed to do the same.

A parent's worst nightmare. In most cases of this sort a family member is involved. I hope that's true because it'd probably mean she's unharmed.

GOD! It's terrible, I hope you to find her. I live in México and if I see her around, inmediatly I'll tell you.
Good Luck! -

How awful, both for the child and her parents. I've emailed the link to my sister in Spokane, my brother in Seattle and another brother in The Dalles.

- (1) Was Lindsey living in the same home both her natural mother and father were living in when she disappeared a year ago?
(2) Have any of Lindsey's relatives also gone missing in the last year, for example, have any of them moved to unknown locations where their relatives have been unable to contact them?
I'm asking because it seems the majority of children that disappear every year are abducted by relatives.
The U.S. Department of Justice reports
* 797,500 children (younger than 18) were reported missing in a one-year period of time studied resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day.
* 203,900 children were the victims of family abductions.
* 58,200 children were the victims of non-family abductions.
* 115 children were the victims of “stereotypical” kidnapping. (These crimes involve someone the child does not know or someone of slight acquaintance, who holds the child overnight, transports the child 50 miles or more, kills the child, demands ransom, or intends to keep the child permanently.)

Timethief,
she went missing two weeks ago. Her birthday was just a couple days ago. I can see now that it might have looked like that was meant, I'm sorry for the confusion.
About relatives, I'm not sure. I'm not intimately involved with the case. There's a group on Ehow who are all helping spread the word about it. We found out about it because one of the writers there was the last person who saw her, Lindsey and her daughter are best friends.
