As you all know we are working on getting a home. We are having an issue getting childcare because we don't get the welfare working program we make too much money to get childcare assistance. However, if I have a job we can get childcare but not the house because then we make too much money.

So here is the question should the government allow leeway for those trying to get ahead and completely off the system? Should social service programs find a way to work together instead of against each other?

Yes, but that would involve having various levels of government and different agencies talk to each other. Allowing leeway might not be the answer, but making programs work together is certainly necessary.
Same thing happens in this city with health care. Those of us who are not poor enough can't get the city plan but can't afford regular policies. Those who are poor enough dare not make an extra couple thousand dollars by working a second or third job, because then their children would have no health insurance. -
The system just doesn't work the way it is designed. I'm sure that it was created to stop people from gaming the system, but I'm afraid it has had a detrimental effect.
Do you have any friends or family members who are willing to do day care? Can you work from home?
