Just after I've created my small company's Christmas party in Dubai, it got attentions and drew traffic to the newly site created. I figure it might be because of the Christmas season.

Oh, I've got more Christmas decorating going on on my thrifting blog right now, than you can shake a jingle-bell at.

Imagine a 26 year record of being at home with the family, broken.
Imagine an 18 year tradition of reading the Story on Christmas Eve threatened.

Soldiers are trained to adapt and overcome. Traditions are upheld but what was the LTC Jeselink to do? The men of his command needed him. His Nation had called. Tradition and Duty seemed to collide but the challenge was overcome.

It's true! I wrote this post a couple weeks back, and people have been finding it via google searches:

Yeah, by Rick Warren. Reminds me of a book. A very good book my wife gave me as a birthday present. I brought it with me in fact on my way here few years back. The "Purpose Driven Life". This is I am sure a good one too. ;D

When I first began blogging I learned that all holiday posts draw a flurry of hits. T wrote a holiday post about once every month most months as that's the number of holidays we seem to have. Then I examined the bounce rates and they told an interesting story.

A holiday post will bring a flurry of hits that results in a high bounce rate that doesn't particularly benefit my blogs in the long term. Successful blogging is creating blog centered relationships that endure.

Don't kid yourself. How many of those readers actually stay on the site longer than it takes to read the holiday post, and who will return to the blog is what really counts.

I did an experiment once; wanted to see if I could get instant search engine traffic on a brand new blog. I created a blog about Halloween two weeks before Halloween and sure enough traffic went through the roof. Of course that was an experiment but it worked

A list of a few Christmas movies that I really like. There are so many terrible sappy Christmas movies out there I thought it was important to let people know about some of the good ones.

    Twas the month before Christmas*
    *When all through our land,*
    *Not a Christian was praying*
    *Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
    * December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
    *Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
    * At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
    *Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
    * Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
    *Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
    not Happy Holiday !*
    Please join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
    holidays a
    MERRY CHRISTMAS
