the only tips i can offer are:
Drink a few glasses of green tea on a daily basis, it supresses appetite.
Move your body. Even fidgetting and toe tapping burns calories.
Become more optimistic. Being a pessimist creates stress which produces those bad body chemicals that help you gain weight.
Consider getting a dog. Playing with and walking a dog are great ways to motivate yourself to get outside and exercise.
Cut back on alcohol, soda/pop, candy and hydrogenated oils.
Avoid those colon cleansing products, if your colon is completely or mostly emptied on a regular basis, it can cause a perforate colon, which is something you really don't want to have.
Eat the daily recommendation of fiber.
Attend public events, like fairs and festivals. That way, you will be walking around and burning calories while having a good time.
Try joining a gym, but don't go in for the strength training right away. Sit ups can seem like a good idea to start with, but often times lead to your middle looking bigger if you haven't first shed the fat layer. Aerobics are usually a good way to start out and may burn the first layers of water and fat quicker than strength exercises.
Keep hydrated, a thirsty body can often become confused and may make you eat in an attempt to gain moisture from food.

I can give you some facts from my personal experience. My body mass was above 120 before 3 months and now its 89 kg.
I'll tell you how i did that.
Well for a start,i'd say that, the outset of your body is completly related with your inner parts and organs.
*first of all i had a healthy diet.Without leaving any regular timings i adjusted it.
*I left all bakery items including burgers, pizzas, and cakes etc.
*I included vegetable into my regular food.Like cucumber, carrot, beans etc.this will help you to reduce the amount of your regular food. And the fiber content in those vegs corrects your inner organs work proper.
    *I reduced use of salt.
Our body in based on water contents. Most of our inner organs can only work with water. When you have more salt ,it'll suck all the water from our body and troubles kidney and liver to work properly. It'll result dangerous.Reduce salt and have atleast 2 litr of water.Water purifies your body and makes you healthy.thus you can get rid of a good amount of fat.
    *I did excersice regularly.Not much,some push ups,jogging and walking.
Try this you will get a good result.
*remember :you need to run 25 miles to reduce 1 spoon of fat from your body.
    Be hopeful and do hardwork
    1. chubbymommyme
25 miles huh...hmmm...Less salt..known but hard to do he he

its a bit hard to reduce your mass than to making it high. But take it as light and be interested on it.It'll get funny,am sure.Think about the reputation and acceptance you r going to get after getting cleared fat.Think about the dresses you left earlier because its not fits you and is getting suitable now.Reducing 120 kg to 89 in 3 months is hard. You can check my PHOTOGRAPHS @ my blog varun-g.blogspot.com/2009/05/my-professional-datas.html
I'll post my new photographs earlier as possible.Be +ve

I always go jogging everyday and always try to avoid eating something late at night. Always brush your teeth after eating. This will help you not to eat anything after brushing your teeth.
    1. chubbymommyme
gives you a signal to stop huh. Good one
  5. JamCan
Eat heeavy in the daytime but light or not at all after 6pm.

I always bring more than enough food to work in the daytime, then I rarely eat dinner because I'm not hungry.

I lost 11 pounds in about a month doing this, without changing anything else!
    1. chubbymommyme
really? i thought the after 6 diet is a myth. Will try that

If you can manage to get into an exercise routine-- even to fit in a good half-hour of exercise a week-- this can help increase endorphins which really does make it become easier to stay away from comfort foods.
    1. JamCan
Agreed. Even something small helps. In the mornings I leave 10 minutes earlier and walk to a farther bus stop instead of using the one right in front of my house.
    2. chubbymommyme
      yes exercise is key

Eat less meat. Or don't eat meat at all. I went vegetarian for a month and it really made a difference. Not that I was ever fat.
I really need to go back to being a vegetarian. Just kind of difficult when your partner is a ravenous carnivore lol.

Oh, and of course: At least 20 minutes of cardiovascular exercise 5 days a week.
    1. JamCan
I agree. I've pretty much cut out all red meat. I only eat chicken (rarely) and fish often. Makes a big difference.
    2. chubbymommyme
i wanna do that too. Same as you.My hubby hates veggies but pretends that he doesnt lol

Excercise 3 to 5 days a week, preferably in the morning.

Find a routine you enjoy. Mix up your routine with cardio(aerobics), strengthening(weights) and stretching(yoga). This jolts your body into working harder and results in weight loss.

Strength training is very important. Women should really try to go for anywhere between 10 to 20lbs. Don't strength train everyday. Every other day is ideal, as you need time for your muscles to rest.

Eat small meals (appearox. 6-8) meals a day consisting of plenty of fruits, vegetables. Eat by colour, greens, reds, blues, oranges, yellows.

On weekends, treat yourself. It's never a good idea to totally deprive yourself, you will resort to binging and that will result in more weight gain.

When grocery shopping, shop on the outer perimeters of the grocery store. This is where all the fresh food is located, fruits, veggies, breads, dairy and meats.

Don't grocery shop on an empty stomach, you are bound to buy junk food.

Get a measuring cup and start measuring your food. It might sound tedious, but after a while you will be able to measure your portions without the use of a measuring cup.

If you're Canadian, get the Canada food guide and try to design your meals according to that.

Drink plenty of water, but also include fruit juices and dairy drinks.

Stay away from fads, low carb, South Beach, etc. Remember, this is a lifestyle.

Get an excercise partner, someone as motivated as you or even more...they will hold you accountable should you fall off the badwagon.

    Good Luck

does shaun t count as an exercise partner? ha ha

Victoria Beckham swears by peppermint tea. She says it keeps the hunger pangs away.

I doubt any one would want to weight 98 lbs like her but I'm thinking of trying this out!

    Oh and lots of exercise!

I'm not a thin girl, I don't think I can be one if I tried (thank you hips and rear). Having noted that, I have always been able to maintain my weight to a comfy place (I don't weigh myself but I know I wear a size 7 in jeans for some perspective).

I personally loathe diets and making myself eat things I don't enjoy for the loss of a few pounds. I like to enjoy eating when I do, so I pretty much eat what I want. However I still:

    - do some form of exercise at least 3 times a week, no schedule or time as I don't like making it feel mandatory. I just do it when I feel up for it. Usually involves a stepper, jogging, stretching, yoga, practicing old kickboxing techniques or weights. I mix it up to avoid getting bored of doing it.

    - I avoid eating late. An old recommendation that stuck with me since yoga days. I don't like hugging the sheets while feeling like I just ate a cow, either.

    - I have cut out soda, mostly because it started to make me feel dirty (my skin) some years ago. Also cut out chips for the same reason since forever. I now have water with everything and when I want something more, I usually have mango juice or something similar.

    - As I mentioned, I do eat what I want and I don't count calories. I have sour cream (not that lite crap, either) with almost everything. I would chew someone's hand off for attempting to make me give it up, not going to happen!

My other half says I probably burn a ton of calories just laughing like a hyena. Which happens, often enough.
