All three of mine are 3's. One went up 1, one stayed the same and the other one went from not rated to 3. Can't complain I guess.

kellybax, you just won a spot on my Board of Directors. You don't have to do a thing. I'll just be studying your blogs and posts and trying to apply what I can learn.
I promise to share all proceeds from my site(s) with you 50-50, until they become revenue generators. After that, I promise to still love you. :-) Well, at least respect you.
Congratulations on your success!

Gawd. I got a 5 too, up from 4. And I've so been focusing on moving the stuff to my new blog. Just when you think things are resolved...guess I will keep up with Florida too. Jeez.

I'm in the same boat as you... we'll figure this out together. It can't be that hard, if 4s abound. We'll just keep looking at what they are doing, reading their advice, using it, and viola, people will feel unworthy to be with us, like we feel with the 4s now.
I just hope we don't run out of newcomers before I get too old to learn.

My blog is new so its 0.

It's not your content's fault. It can't be. If content is what drives PR, then your blog definitely would be a 10, I am positive. I believe this is based on Science.
I'll check out your blog after finishing this post.
I know mine would be a 10 if it were based on content (just kidding), so I know content is not what determines PR (just kidding again, but I like my content, so I keep telling myself I won't have to change it for PR purposes. I just need to get discovered by Michael Moore or something cool like that, that is my plan for PR, till I learn something better.)
Until we are discovered by Michael Moore, I think there might be dues to pay, placing links to our sites around, tricks like that, doing the quirky things the veterans recommend.
I fear it will come down to having to adjust my site, but that is a last resort. I am like a baby with my bottle and nasty diaper, I just want to keep my content and have everyone think it's awesome. If life could be so easy.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... of course, Google Page Rank!!!! Hummm...
So what happens if my PR gets to 4, 5, or 6? Do I win bonus points somewhere? Can I cash in my blog at that point for money? Does PR translate to dollars?
Thank you again for all the amazing info streaming in. Gezum, there is a lot to this blogging thing.-
I was kinda hoping for an answer to this question... the lack of response is making me wonder if I somehow got a stinker to send its signature through the internet into this question.
So, is a PR of 5 going to help me become more confident inside? Richer at the bank? Does it translate into a certain number of unique visitors every day?

Some of you people here are running some hard core stuff. I can see I am going to have to break out my special sauce to catch up with you professionals.
Please don't tell me you are not professionals, because if you are not... well, I think you are, some of these sites are extremely awesome.
I will say this, though. While I do not have PR, if you type my name into google, my site comes up... #2. I like that. They guy ahead of me is a professional comedian, so I figure he should be the most notable among those with my name. That said, I do want to take over that top spot. I bet some PR would spank him.
I wonder if he is reading this. -
My blog is almost a month old.. but I believe the traffic to my blog is okay... so why am I still not rated? is an almost month old blog really not going to get any Page rank any time soon? How long does it usually take?

Hi BennyGreenberg,
sounds like you missed the memo I didn't get either. Here is what I have pieced together:
1. PR = Google Page Rank, which is a score of 0-10 assigned by Google to most sites and/or pages. For a full explanation of Google Page Rank, you can google the subject. It's a quick measure of a site's credibility and value in the eyes of Google. Since most web traffic is driven by search results, the idea is the higher your Google PR, the more traffic you can expect.
2. There are lots of ways to find out what Google has for your PR, including these, provided earlier in this discussion:
www.prchecker.info/check_page_rank.php
pr.blogflux.com/
www.pagerank.net/pagerank-checker/
you got to any of those links, enter your URL and presto, your google rank will be revealed.
3. Improving PR is one of the main purposes of BlogCatalog. There are as many how-to guides as there are people giving free advice. If you want to pay for advice on boosting PR, please send me a private message, and I will hook you up. ;-)
4. For quick start in boosting your page ranking, I recommend the following links:
www.jeunellefoster.com/
www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/blogging-help
5. I just look at sites that rank better than mine, read what their authors recommend, and keep digging for more idea, and before long, I figure i will be one of those sporting a PR to be proud of.
6. If any of this works for you, pass it on. It's the best way to learn.
I have no clue, so now we're even.
Good luck.

hi up here
I am a bit proud that the category pages are starting to show page rank with most categories with 10 posts or more showing a pr of 4. When I set up the design of the blog the SEO goal was to pass page rank to the categories.
www.we-relax.com from 4 to 5 - I am a bit proud that most individual category pages got PR 4 as that site was designed to pass page rank to the categories.
www.painrelief101.com from 1 to 4 - even got a category page with pr 3 -
-
I went up to a PR3 from a PR2 on www.pureblogic.com. I'm happy because the site is not even six months old and I went up twice. I've checked the datacenters and I believe I'll be a 5 when the next updates come through in July.

Can't say I care much about Page Rank any more.
A score made by Page which they used in their early days but mostly seems to keep around for novelty reasons now their algorithms are much more sophisticated.
It has little to do with SEO any more as "low" ranking sites score high in the result list anyway.
