Pre-Planned Destiny:Debt Slave

Even as children, we knew what we wanted to be when we grew up but we never once stopped to think about what really influenced us into our desires;the media, images that we see that we determine are pleasing to us without giving much thought as to why -- but we do understand that "it takes money" to get what we want or where we want to be.
We attend universities, trade schools, for examples, for the sake of higher learning or advanced training because we are told that education is key to success and a wealth of opportunities. Well, where are all these opportunities aside from the opportunities to make a huge debt? We are told to live according to our desires or in relation to our income levels and strive for more. What happens when the checks stop coming and the debt begins to pile up?
What happens when we are no longer capable of keeping up with "The Media Joneses" when it comes down to being who we wanted to be since childhood backfires? Are we really that equipped to handle the backlash mentally, emotionally let alone financially?

I'm reading a book right now you might be interested; "Life, Inc.--How the World Became a Corporation and How to Take It Back" by Douglas Rushkoff. I'd also recommend the documentary "The Corporation."

It's ironic...when you CAN pay your bills on time, you're a 'deadbeat'. When you can't pay your bills at all or on time...you're a 'debt slave'. LOL!

  I never knew that paying bills on time made people a deadbeat just more efficient towards keeping up (for the time being anyway) versus those who cannot.

Our system encourages our slavery to it. That's how those in power stay in power. We're encouraged by society to better ourselves, to strive for more and more; then we're forced to work to maintain the lifestyles that we've become accustomed to.

If we could all just leave "the system" whenever we please, the rich and powerful would fall within a year. But we can't leave it for just a month, let alone twelve. Our system has us trapped as it wants us to be.

I pulled myself free years ago. I have nothing anchoring me, so I just drift back and forth across the Atlantic as I please. I'm just one out of billions, so I and the few others who have done such a thing do not really matter. But it can be done.
