February 2010, that's the official date to campaign for those hopefuls to be the president of the Philippines. But two years before the awaited date, (even earlier than that) echoes of who's going to run for the 2010 Presidential Election is already an issue everyone awaits.
Take a peek at the presidential hopefuls.

Bayani Fernando's face is always on TV now. For me I think its too early to start campaigning. I hate suckers of power like him.

Thailand about 30 years ago had half the gross national product of the Philippines. Philippines was the country to be in, the most educated people in South East Asia and fast growing economy. Today the gross national product of the Philippines is half the one of Thailand... It sure tells you something about the "leaders" of the country.

Well, in this part of the world, quite a few leaders steal but in the Philippines, I guess they're just too greedy. Even the roads in Indonesia these days are better than in Philippines. You try to venture out of Manila, after a few kms the roads are just...not roads anymore, no maintenance. Zero investment in infrastructure, education, health care, you name it, they do not do it. This is really a shame to "destroy" a nation that had/has so much potential.

Many times in the past 20 years, we have an office there. The reason the situation frustrates me a bit sometimes...

I usually go twice to three times a year. So my last trip was a few months back, time to make another one... And I think your thread is getting a bit off topic...

Tough choice. I met Estrada before, in a party one evening, before he was elected. He is the cousin of our agent at that time. He was drunk and really a womanizer by any standards. And he sure did not impress me as being overly smart (but he was drunk, so maybe I'm wrong). But anyway he was elected. And well, I do not know the ones you put in your blog but if I can comment, lucky me I do not have to choose...

I met all of them I was in Estrada's house when he was removed from office with the whole family, yup he is a womanizer alright (which official in the world hasn't). But I believe the best President we had was Ferdinand Marcos when the $ was equal to 10 peso only.
I know them to a certain point and worked with some of them . Such was the reason for the post, the Filipino people, all over the world, who needs to know. They do not know them and so before making a choice I hope they educate themselves first.

I choose me LOL!
Well, you make your choice really.
That post I mentioned above contains links about their official webpage, blog, bios and campaign page too, facebook and friendster pages also.
It will equip everyone to have a grasp what these people are and what are they capable to do and if they will remain consistent from now until 2010.

Haven't you noticed that all these politicians have already started campaigning as soon as they start reporting for office? The campaign period before election is just the culmination of their campaign. Seldom will you see in these politicians the true service for their constituents while in office. Some probably would do real act of service, but many would do it to aggrandize their accomplishment and position themselves for the next campaign period. Shallow politics.
