Which is a better novel: 'Pride & Prejudice' or 'Sense & Sensibility?' What's the reason for your choice?

I think the book ‘Pride and Prejudice’ has a lot to do with morality and how we perceive it. Maybe what Jane Austen wanted to convey through her story was that the only function of ‘pride’ and ‘prejudice’ is that it puts blinkers on our ability to understand people and their behaviour.

Sense and sensibility, on the other hand, juxtaposes logic with emotions. Personally, i think it’s necessary to be in tune with ones emotions. The world isn’t made entirely of black and white or mathematical formulae. There is an element of grey, which i call the colourful realm, in it too; and the absence of emotions throws a veil on that colourful realm. If a person is not in tune with his emotions, he’ll never have the ability to dream or be empathetic or use his imagination to come up with something new and exciting. But i guess what the author of the book wanted to convey was that both 'sense' and 'sensibility' need to be tempered with one another. Let’s say, 90% - the ability to be able to dream; and 10% - logic, to make the dreams real. But thank God for emotions... otherwise Jane Austen wouldn’t have written her books, and all the poetry in the world would have read ‘two plus two is equal to four’. And all would have come to nought.

Yikes! I tried my best to say something smart, but i’m afraid i’m not very well versed with these two books. I know i’ve got it all wrong; but i just thought i’d give you company till someone more knowledgeable on these books comes along to discuss the topic.

I really wouldn’t know which of these two books to choose over the other. How about you?

Pride and Prejudice because I remember it (and have reread it more than once) and I read the other one but don't remember it.
