I am not sure whether it is a good or bad idea to keep making movies about the same topic... that is probably one of Hollywood's problems... they are always trying to find a formula to earn more money.
I just went to watch "The Golden Compass" and it is the same as Narnia, Harry Potter, etc... A kid with the power to save humanity...

Have you seen the movie?
What are your thoughts on it?

Personally I am anti Hollywood in terms of creativity but Pro Hollywood in terms of marketing

I do not think it is a bad movie at all... you can check my full review at: rodval.blogspot.com

I haven't been to the movies in ages. There hasn't been anything out that looks even remotely worth watching.

What kind of movies are you into?

    Do you prefer indie movies?

Horror movies... I watched a week ago a film called "P2" it is not really a horror movie in the sense that there are no ghosts, or monsters or anything like that... but in the sense that the events portrayed in the film can happen to almost everyone of us... you can read the complete review at

I am anti-star. It seems that there are about 10 people at any given time that can get cast in whatever role they like, whether they suit the character or not. If you've read the book, Nicole Kidman is completely wrong for her part. Daniel Craig? Meh, I'd have to see his performance.

The amount of money involved in these projects make people unwilling to take chances on unknown elements. Whole swaths of talent and creativity are swept aside in the pursuit of the almighty dollar. I like a bit of escapism from time to time, but I prefer that I be able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy it. When was the last time George Clooney or Matt Damon played anyone but George Clooney or Matt Damon?
