I've had so many problems with Google Friends Connect widget, I had to remove it on my blogs..

NOW its locking up or causing bugs in IE8 when I visit a site that uses it. Google now says "put it at the bottom of the blogger", so they know there are problems...

ANYONE else having these problems, and (1) any workaround? (2) why use it until its fixed? any real advantages over RSS subs, readers, other means of following?

ps - No other "friends box" widgets are having problems, like BlogCat, MyBlogLog, even the Twitter "Flyovers", which is also in beta
