Proper Lawn Gnome Etiquette and Display

I'm a gnome-loving American, and I know there's a right and a wrong way to display a garden gnome.
How do all you pinko foreigners in Commie-lan-istan display your gnomes? What are your rules?

I say the gnomes must always face east, towards the land of their proud forefathers. The Gnome Handbook is very specific about these sorts of things!

sorry just dont get the attraction to gnomes although in oz where I use to live they had a traffic circle in a small town and everyone who came through added a gnome until it became this huge city of gnomes scary-

mine aren't plastic, they're concrete and I have four of them. They're vintage concrete flamingos similar to these, although mine are pale pink and pretty much intact w/ original legs.
