Blog Catalog is international or specifically American or English anti-francophone?

In short ... I will continue to respond to questions in french. If you want to scratch my registration of your directories, it's like you want.

I doubt anyone will insist on your responding in English. But I also suspect you'll get precious few answers.

By the way, how does it follow that speaking English is anti-French culture and language? It doesn't. Get over it.

As stoneman said I doubt anyone would deliberately be Anti French. Anti Rude on the other hand is fair game.

Genau. Stellen Sie sich vor, ich würde nur auf Deutsch schreiben, Sie auf Französisch, die Philappinen in ihrer Sprache, usw. Ziemlich blöd, was?

Edit: I just used the Google translator on this, and it mangled it beyond recognition. Don't bother. I was just wondering how useful it would be if I wrote in German, Wawaron in French, the Filipinos in their language, and so on. I ended with "Pretty stupid, right?"

It would be pretty useless and definitely not as beneficial

This reminds me of a conference on Total War I attended that was put on by a German-speaking group of historians. The official conference languages were German and English. French historians were invited, but could not come, because French was not an official language. If I understood correctly, this was not the historians themselves, but their superiors, perhaps the French state.

I'd say a more effective approach would be simply to provide content so compelling that people will be willing to use French. French historians definitely succeed in that effort. One can't do European history without being able to read French.

the problem with translators online is that they can't give all the soul of a language... and make read many errors (this is not a translation but my english... not very good, sorry

Computer translators suck. No doubt. Still, I suggest you write English here and add phrases in parentheses to give a flavor of what you are really trying to say. (I can appreciate not being able to speak as one wants to..)

non, madame x mais j'ai des américains qui m'insultent tous les jours à cause que je suis francophone... alors, je me dis que les américains ont un problème.

à force, je finis par me demander si être francophone est une tare.

Hi stoneman, I have read parts of your blogs and personnal pages... I am glad your visit too. Thank you.

Et tu as raison... et c'est valide pour toutes les langues... malheureusement, le service de traduction de l'ONU n'est pas disponible partout, je crois.

    oups

And you are right ... And this is valid for all languages ... Unfortunately, the translation service of the United Nations is not available everywhere, I think.
