    Are you? Why?

If you can't be convicted of a crime that is on video tape... what is the deal? lol
    1. MadameX
I never saw the tape, but it sounded like there were serious problems with making a reliable identification based on the tape, and the alleged victim insisted that it wasn't her. It would be pretty tough to get to a certainty "beyond a reasonable doubt" with both parties agreeing that the event in question never occurred.

Welcome to the "American Un-Justice System".
He's a Celeb. They can get away with Murder, and they do.
Money and Celebrity talk in this country. Had this been Joe Average, he'd be going away for a long, long time.

Found not guilty by his people who love him.

When all this was all over the news and tabloids, people were buying up his CD like hotcakes at Walmart. That CD i Remember sold out the first day at one store.

He married a 15 yr old and the marriage was annulled. That was Aaliyah. R.I.P

Who's R Kelly? Now I gotta go google him
    1. clioandme
Gross and Yuk are two thoughts that come to mind.
  7. jaha
Drowsey, you don't know who R Kelly is? Goodness, where do you live?
    1. DrowseyMonkey
Canada. I just googled him, and he's a rapper. I'm over 40 so I can't understand a word rappers say when they "sing" It's genetic, LOL. I never heard of him till I read the news article, he sounds, um ... charming ... uh huh.
    2. clioandme
It's not his music that got him in the news stories I've heard.

    R. Kelly Raps? Um R&B is not Rap

Robert Sylvester Kelly (born January 8, 1967) better known by his stage name R. Kelly, is an American R&B and pop singer, songwriter and record producer.
    1. DrowseyMonkey
okay, I thought I read he was a rapper. Either way, never heard of him.

Just clicked on a youtube video of one of his songs, where he's a boxer ... didn't listen to all of it but it was good, very pretty.
    1. Jeunelle
Like I was saying, I especially liked the video where he's walking up the stairs
and those who the saw the video, knows what I'm talking about.
  9. gmoney
I dont see nothing wrong with a little bump and grind
    1. Jeunelle
Me neither but it wasn't little. Bwaaaahhhh
    2. DrowseyMonkey
didn't see that video. I'm stuck in the 70s...bump and grind...Funkadelic, they're more my style. But this dude r kelly seems to have a prob with the little ones from what I'm reading. But apparently, he's innocent.
    3. mitch972
HAHA... i knew you would say something like that..lol
  10. zawadi
I actually would love to spit on R. Kelly.
He would probably love to P*** on me
    1. Jeunelle
Now I have thought of this too.
"I wanna piss on you" was hilarious of Dave Chappelle
    2. mitch972
      Chapelle was funny...
  11. Jeunelle
He must of had good lawyers and having money....seems to work too.

    Yeah - I can't believe this either.

    I blogged it here : www.musicreviewzone.com/2008/06/13/r-kelly-not-guilty/

NOT GUILTY verdict? There is no justice in this world and it definitely shows the holes that continue to plaque the criminal justice system - that celebs get preferential treatment. R. Kelly has employed every single tactic in the book to get away with his crimes and it has clearly paid off.

This verdict and trial mirrors the Michael Jackson trial (coincidentally, a close pal of R. Kelly's) all over again, but at least there was no hardcore proof stacked against MJ. R. Kelly on the other hand was spotted on tape pissing and having sex with a minor. I am convinced R. Kelly paid off the jury. How the HELL does someone get found NOT GUILTY when there is HARDCORE evidence proving that he is a pedophile?

This is a case of, when you are stinking rich (and famous), you can get away with almost ANYTHING.

    Thanks Toya!
    1. MadameX
If he paid someone off, I suspect it was the alleged victim, who swore that it wasn't her on the tape. Given the fact that years have passed since the tape was filmed, it would have been very unlikely that a jury could look at a relatively low-quality video of an apparent young teenage girl and look at a woman who denied that it was her and conclusively determine that it was. The standard, after all, is "beyond a reasonable doubt". Could those jurors have been CERTAIN that it was the same woman?
  14. mariamichelle
Is anyone that surprised? I didn't think he would receive that much of a punishment if he was found guilty.
  15. Jeunelle
What it proves is when the Government or the Law wants to make an example of you like say "Spitzer"
they would do anything to make you their example but obviously R. Kelly
wasn't someone they were interested in...as far as making an example of.
    1. MadameX
Hm...so, Eliot Spitzer was NOT charged criminally, and R. Kelly was...hard to understand your point here?
  16. mariamichelle
Good point Jeunelle. What a major difference in how two were treated!
    1. MadameX
      What was it?
    2. Jeunelle
I still remember how Michael Jackson came on the air to tell us how embarrassed he was when the Law came and took pictures of his alleged penis.
I mean what's there to see? He has perm pressed hair on his penis so what's there to see?
I've seen plenty of them and after a while they all look the same to me. lmao
  17. BlueSunshine
Has anyone here actually seen the video? The fact that he's not guilty is really going to piss a lot of people off.

But at least it's better than being pissed on.
  18. mynewplace
have people ever seen the R Kelly hip-hopera? called "trapped in the closet?

it is by far the most ridiculous thing i have ever seen. r kelly narrates/smoove jams the most complicated love hexagon of all time and sings every actor's (of which there are mnay) lines.

they have viewing parties for this thing in bars all over SF.
    1. JillSaxon
LOL. "Trapped in the Closet" is awful. Why on earth would anyone have a viewing party for that? Hahaha, talk about loyal fans.

"I still remember how Michael Jackson came on the air to tell us how embarrassed he was when the Law came and took pictures of his alleged penis."

    I almost fell over. Alleged!!!
    1. Jeunelle
hahahaha I know zawadi, Michael Jackson didn't hurt nobody.
He may be weird to some but he is harmless
and his alleged penis is none of my business. lmao

While were at it, Pee Wee Herman was arrested in a movie theatre masturbating
with a box of popcorn while watching a movie.

What is the big crime here?
The fact that he was enjoying himself?

They arrested him and made him a puppet show, to scorn and laugh at him.
Why do we find this so amuzing?

The fact that he was having some pleasure and most of us can't, may create jealousy in some.

I find the whole thing to be stupid, I mean he could of been doing far worst things,
than playing with his pee pee.

For God's People, Get a Grip.
And let a man have some pleasure. lmao
