Do you prefer to read the book, see the movie or both? If both, which would you want to do first?

Depends which came first. If it was a book first then I like to read the book, and if it was a film first I'd like to watch the film first.

Philip K. Dick (sci-fi author) wrote a short story called 'Minority Report'. Then Tom Cruise was in the title movie.

For me, the movie was a major disappointment. The story was much better. It was a brain twister. The movie sucked! Hollywood can never get it right!

I definitely like to read the book, although I've stopped purposely reading the book before I see the movie. If I like the book, plot changes and holes in the movie drive me crazy.

I prefer reading the book, but with the degree I'm doing I rarely get to read for fun anymore! Unfortunately I see more films haha.

Read the book. More opportunity for creative imagination.

I agree with creemos ... if there's a choice, I'd prefer to read the book. The movie never reaches the level of imagination in my own mind.

Case in point ... I've read To Kill A Mockingbird countless times but I adamantly refuse to watch the movie, I don't care how great it's rumored to be. I have the perfect images of Scout and Jem and all of the characters in my mind.

I prefer the book, films taken from books are always a disappointment.
