Do you guys know any good movies that show/describe a RELATIONSHIP instead of the dating part of it? (I'm not interested in the ones where credits start to roll right after the guy gets the girl.)

I can only think of one, Good Will Hunting, in which Robing Williams' character talks about the relationship between him and his late wife. Surely there must be other ones?

Scores highly on Rotten Tomatoes, will have to put that on the list to watch, thanks!

Oh dear. I actually watched this again based on your recommendation... The last time I saw it I think I was 7 or 8 and loved it then... Now the only thing I feel is "now there's an hour an a half I'll never get back"! Before I watched it I checked Rotten Tomatoes score, and as it was just a bit over 50% I thought these people must be hard boiled cynics, but I have to agree with every word they said on the rotten side... Blah!

The Deep End of the Ocean

I guess that's what the title is. It starred Michelle Pfieffer and I forgot the guy.

      Treat Williams.

Although that one is more "Where is my son?!" and "That's my son!" than anything else

I think Love Actually is! It has some realistic relationships in it (it focuses on a few different ones) and others that are clearly meant to be light hearted. It has a little satirical poke at how some people are very idealistic about relationships. Very romantic too :).

The realistic ones are: The man tempted by his younger work colleague, man losing his wife, man cheated on and the relationship that crosses language barriers.

Not realistic: The woman who gets together with the prime minister (very getting together as the credits roll, just as you describe)

I like Walk The Line too, not just because of my Johnny Cash addiction, but because it shows how his relationship with his wife broke down and how the one with June Carter developed.

Sorry if my taste in films is poor, I'm 21 so I've not heard of any of the ones listed so far. I'll definitely give them a go though!

      Realistic? Really?

Scores 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. Good one, mate.

The Freddy Krueger movies. Just when things are hot and heavy in a relationship, something or someone kills it.
