Received My First Google Adsense Check!

Last month I received my first Google Adsense check it was for only $102 and it took me several months to accumulate, but it was still nice to see and to cash...

Hopefully, the next one will not take as long to accumulate.

  One site www.CollegeTidbits started in Jan 2008, the other one www.johnzpchut.com has been around for a while. However, I started monetizing the sites in February 2008...

  I am no expert but here are 3 quick tips:
  
  1. Make sure that your blogging subject is something that you really love. Because this is going to be the only thing that keeps you coming back during tough times.
  
  2. Post to your blog as often as possible. Especially when you are just starting out. This is a tough one, which I sometimes struggle with.
  
  3. Learn from the experts. Below is a link to the blogs of a 4 very successful people, I have tried to learn from:

  It is a lot harder than I would have ever imagined. At some point soon, I would like to make $2,000-$4,000 per month. Right now it seems eons away.
  
  That's what's so impressive, when you see people that are making huge sums of $$$...

  I dont' click on them at all... I would never recommend doing that, you could pay a heavy price. Lisa Irby of "How to Create a Blog" has a great post about why you should not click on your own adsense ads:

  How ill I know who you are if you dod not tell me? You need some sort of About page. It also gives you some credibility with your readers.

  Your site appears to be new so it will take a while. Also I had trouble telling when a new post began. I prefer larger fonts. People underestimate how important of font size.

  Did you tweak or change your template? Looks a little diffrent... In any case I like the blog. Your blog like many that are on BlogCatalog (including mine) is very new.
  
  You are going to do fine, it will just take time. The average age of the top 100 blogs (according to Technorati) is 3 years or longer.

  There are so many diffrent claims, but I am learning that there is no substitute for content, organic links and time... The top 100 blogs have been around for at least 3-5 years...
  
  The best way still seems like the old fashion way. Many of these people just want to get your cash and blame you for not following their program to the letter... My 2 cents...

That same 102 dollars you earned over the course of several months would have taken you one day to earn in the real world. This is why I don't put ads on my blog, no sense in making my blog into a nuisance.

Congratulations. Yes it takes several months to reach your first ad sense payment. Hopefully your next payment will not take that much time. Though $100 is nothing when compared to the hard work you have put in , in the long run it will pay you,good luck.
