I want to redirect my free account at LiveJournal to my new blog. I just can't seem to make the time to update two that have such similar content. I can't seem to make it work, however. Your ability to change the HTML is very limited with a free account, as is my knowledge of it. Does anyone know if I can do this, or should I just pop in every few months and post a friendly reminder to visit the new one?

You want to have your style option set to S1, then go to the "Custom Options" tab. This is where you can override HTML.

    The HTML redirect code is:
    meta HTTP-EQUIV="REFRESH" content="0; url=http://www.yourdomain.com/index.html"
You'll have to put a bracket before "meta" and after the last quote, BlogCatalog keeps not showing the code when I have them there.

I believe the LJ Override Block you want to put that in is GLOBAL_HEAD. Browse through the LJ FAQ if you have no clue what that means, it's been a while since I've used LJ.

That's the code I put in there, but I didn't use the global head. Do you know if I need the < pointy brackets or [ square ones? I used the pointy ones but I'm not much on HTML, obviously.

Also, if you can not get to the area of your website, try using tinyurl.com to redirect your old to your new url.

I've never used tinyurl - I didn't know they could do that. I may have to check that out. Difficulty in customizing (for cheap people like me) is one of the reasons I left LJ in the first place!
