I got the questions back from the comedian and he answered them pretty straightforward including the one that I posted on here that people didn't exactly like. Here is the question and answer, if you want to read the rest of the interview you can find it here:

I really think is answer was interesting.

3) What is the deal with the fact that there are no popular thin female black comics? Is it just because there are so few famous female comics in general? Or is it because Mo’Nique ate them?

OK, you are about to upset a gang of people with this question. But I like you, you take chances too. To answer your question, in addition to there being a shortage of female comedians, it seems Hollywood has embraced full figured female comedians. Most notably Mo’ Nigue and Roseanne. There are many more I just can’t think of them right now. But voluptuous female comedians seem to be able to get away with saying whatever they want and still be liked. Let’s face it, if a thin women were to say some of the things I’ve heard come out of thicker women, they would be persecuted.

    I liked it.

    Just for the record.

Don't have time to read the interview right now, but I will over the weekend.

Honestly I was kind of disappointed by it. He was so serious.

Maybe looking for an opportunity to show something other than the stage persona?

I've heard about comics doing that before. Both Bill Cosby and Jerry Lewis, for example, have always been very surprisingly serious in interviews.

Well I'm happy he didn't get upset with it!

That's a mighty serious answer though, for a question that was geared towards humor...dontchya think?

The whole interview was like that but you know what? I like that he answered this one honestly because I never thought about it if a thin women would get destroyed. Although Sarah Silverman is pretty out there and raunchy.

Well, I was thinking about this the other day... Actually, stand-up comedians in general (male and female) are not overall the thinnest bunch. But are they more representative in general of our society than, say, typical actors and actresses? Maybe. I think you almost have to be, to relate face-to-face to people in the audience like that.

Hmmm that is interesting. Also I think they don't live the healthiest lifestyle... The work at night, on the road a lot, surrounded by alcohol.

He certainly brought up a good point. Most successful comedy contains pretty harsh observations, and are actually rather biting commentaries on society. Coming from someone who is glamorous, it probably wouldn't be so funny. But from a regular person, like TSR brought up...it makes it humorous.

Do you remember that movie that Chris Rock did (was it him? He died and was put into the body of a rich white man?)

Anyway, he tried to do a comedy routine as a rich old white man that had been mildly successful when he was a poor black kid...didn't come across quite the same. (I mean, in movie land it ended up OK, but I think the point is still there).

      you watched that entire movie?

Chris Rock should be stopped from making movies. He is by far one of the best comics on stage but his movies are just awful...

Well except for New Jack City... Pookie was the truth.

But yeah you are right... I think who is delivering the message has an awful lot with how it is accepted.

LOL, I did watch it. I thought it was cute
New Jack City - God i haven't seen that movie in ages!

I thought it was an interesting interview, is he a successful comic or just a failed comic turned TV presenter?
