Newman's Own has grown into a powerful and lasting expression of Paul Newman's generosity. The Company has generated over $250 million in proceeds that have been donated by Paul Newman and the Newman's Own Foundation to thousands of charities worldwide. Particularly close to his heart were the Hole in the Wall Camps, now the leading global family of camps for children with life-threatening illnesses, which Paul started over 20 years ago.

I'm joking. Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid was an absolutely ace movie.

You know, I'm kinda old, and unless you grew up watching Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, or Cool Hand Luke, The Sting, and the like, I'm not sure you can grasp how cool, and loved this guy was on and off the screen.

I actually had a Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid poster in my bedroom. The famous shot of the last scene.

I also had the fortune to serve Paul a beer during the Long Beach Grand Prix, back in the day, in my previous life as a bartender.

His eyes were the bluest eyes I have ever seen. Talk about cool....I think you can see his photo under the definition of "cool."

Cool hand Luke was a great film. The egg eating scene is one of the best in cinema.

Paul Newman and I had a lot in common. He was a good looking color-blind Jew with Eastern Europe heritage and I am also a... well, three out of four ain't bad.

One of my favorite actors of all time. He left us with a lot of good movies. RIP.

He will surely be missed. Not only as an actor but a great man as he did lots of good in this world.
I for one will always think of him when I hear this song and remember him in this scene when it comes to him. > www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_089PdrEk0&feature=related

Yet another Immortal of the Silver Screen has proven that immortality is, in fact, limited to the silver screen. Even though it was strongly rumored that Paul Newman was dying, it’s never easy to accept the imminent demise of a superstar: our own immortal daydreams rely so heavily on the illusion of their eternal presence.

Newman will be missed: a superb actor, an accomplished man, a credit to American cinema.

(I envy TheBigRuski's encounter with the "Cool One" himself.)
