With rice on an all time high and many nations struggling to feed their poorest citizens, Walmart's Sam Club has decided to limit the amout of rice each costumer can buy.

Isn't this food scare about scarcity running just a little bit out of hand?

    Very interesting!

Costco has already been doing this, as well as flour. Food prices have gotten outrageous and these supermarkets placing limits are only creating unneeded panic.

That is amazing. I wonder what will be restricted next.

Maybe, but I'd say that Costco, Sam's Club, and the rest, are responding to what they saw happening to their inventory.

The price of rice has been going up rather sharply recently: a matter of bad harvests and diversion to biofuel, I understand. That's gotten some people excited - specifically, customers of these places.

I'd love to come up with some conspiracy theory, but that would be silly.
