These people constantly talk about community standards and family values. They want literature from "ex-gays" and want creationism included in scientific textbooks.
It just kills me.
Can we talk about something happier? It's been such a serious week here on BC and I would rather take our favorite books and create fantasy movie casts.

Your topic prompted me to finally write a blog post that's been bouncing around in my head for weeks, about the way new technology will make the next wave of book "burning" easier, more efficient, and frighteningly thorough: whatswrongaroundus.blogspot.com/2009/08/book-burning-for-21st-century-and.h...

I feel that censorship has a very limited use in society, and should by all means be enforced through self discipline. Of course understanding that that isn't going to happen - anything that is not written specifically to incite violence or defame others is perfectly fine in my...uh...book.
If you don't like it, don't read it is my motto. -
and here this Saturday night I am trying to write a book review and struggling with Amazon which keeps timing out, getting frustrated and asking myself 'WHY exactly do I do this' again....

There's a campaign to support the right to free speech online. I joined some weeks ago after visiting a blog from Zimbabwe. It's called Blue Ribbon Campaign:
