Yeah sure, why not myself. One thing though - my last post was published when I was really really tired and I haven't gone back in to edit the mistakes. (Some spelling, grammar, etc). So...with that in mind:

A free review is great, but I'm curious:
What are you getting out of this?
I'm not being cynical. Just curious.-
Well...for one, I get to see new and interesting blogs.
Two, I like to share my opinion (and yes, it is strictly an opinion, nothing more).
And three, I'm a graphic design student and it helps me keep my eye sharp.
Like -
“What would I do differently?”
“How would I improve this?”
“What is good or excellent about this blog?”
“What isn’t quite working?”
- - -
FYI: If anyone wants to disagree with me, feel free. My opinion is not gospel. There may be certain things I didn't take in to consideration. A good, wholesome discussion is always good.
-
Be nice...
urikalish.blogspot.com/-
I don't exactly read the blogs - I just take my impression of it.
Can you imagine how many people would get mad if I was judging on grammar and whether or not I agree with their view point on certain subjects? lol
Just keep in mind that this review is coming from a designer's perspective, so...yah!
I will never grade on grammar, punctuation and view points.

Sorry Duke...but anybody that claims to be a designer but uses Explorer.....just lost all credibility.

As far as a bad blog, it would have to be a pretty bad blog.
But the over-all rating kind of averages everything out.
They can have excellent content, but poor graphics.
If you want an example of something "bad" (or something that isn't quite working) on a certain blog, then just look at the individual rating.
Then you can get a better feel of the excellent/good and the average/poor aspects of that blog. -
Have a look...

I had a hard time focusing on the content. A lot of the material was kind of scrunched. Don't be afraid to space things out a bit. You don't want to make it feel too empty and open, but you want the content to be spaced out enough that we feel like we have a slight pause. And you should probably consider putting an anchor at the bottom of your page. Maybe a banner or something so that the readers feel like they've come to the end and aren't left hanging.

Thank you for the review! Yes, I know that upper corner's a bit vacant but with everything that's going on below the header I didn't want to make it too busy... I have a new header that will be going up when the second book, by the same name, comes out in the fall to match the cover art...

No prob!
Other than the graphics it looks pretty professional.
I would start working a bit on the bottom part of your blog. It looks kind of empty and it leaves your readers hanging. You need something there to conclude your blog. Banners and advertisments are a good thing to put there.
Good luck!

I really like the feel of your blog. However, your left nav bar looks a little cluttered. I would space things out a bit. Also, I would put an anchor at the bottom of your blog so that you don't leave your readers hanging. Just something to conclude your blog, like maybe a banner or something. Other than that, I really like your blog.

Okay, comments taken to heart and I prettied my site up a bit. It *had* gotten sorta cluttery on the nav side ... good eye.

It looks very professional. It's always a good idea to integrate graphics in to your articles so that people are attracted to the topic and have something to look at and peak their interest. Don't be afraid to space things about a bit either. Space is a good thing, but don't over do it. Other than that, it looks very good.
You might want to consider putting some type of banner at the bottom to conclude your blog so you don't leave your readers hanging.

"You might want to consider putting some type of banner at the bottom to conclude your blog so you don't leave your readers hanging. Good job!"
Hey there, First of all i wud like to thank you for a nice "overall rating" at my page, im not a programmer, so i actually dont know how to put up a "conclude" at the bottom of my page! hope someone will help me!
Your review to my page is greatly appreciated!
Best Regards, -
Glad I could help!
If you have the code for a banner or something, just plug it in to the HTML element on your layout and drag it to the bottom. There should be a slot to put that HTML box.
If you're not familiar with HTML, just research it online. It's really not that hard. If you're a blogger, you eventually pick up on all of this stuff. It's not too hard.
Let me know if you need more help.

I'm loving the graphics and how you integrated them in to your articles. Very nice! The right nav bar is a little empty. I would start there. And then, again, you might want to add a conclusion to your blog (a banner or something at the bottom). Look at the conversation above, maybe that will help if you don't know how.

I'm loving your blog. From what I can tell, your blog is pretty young, but the content is very strong! I love your art!!!
I would say, work on your right nav bar a bit. And in your articles, try and space them out a bit (the pics are kind of tight together and to the words). They look a little scrunched together.
Don't be afraid to experiment with some HTML. There are some excellent tutorials out there. After you blog for awhile, this HTML stuff will come second nature. There are some really simple things that you can do in code that will improve your blog tremendously.
You're doing awesome!
Keep up the good work.

Don't be afraid to space out the pics a bit. Not too much, just enough that the pics and text aren't too close. You want things to be spaced out enough so that you don’t get that cluttered feeling. If everything is bunched together, it’s hard to focus on any one thing and enjoy it. You’re constantly competing with other articles and pics. Just give your articles a little breathing room.
And...this seems to be a reoccurring theme, but this is just personal preference - I would put maybe a banner or something at the bottom of the blog to conclude it. Without something there, your readers are left hanging.
Glad I could review your blog! Looks good.

Wow! Very impressed! Did you design that yourself?
The only real suggestion is (and people who have been reading my reviews know exactly what I'm going to say - it happens to be a recurring theme in this discussion) to put some type of conclusion at the bottom of your blog. A banner or some type of design work, links - something. That way your reader doesn't feel like they're left hanging.
Other than that - very nice!

Love the sliding bar!!! Very convenient and it lets the reader know that there is more. Often times the reader will get to the end of the posts and forget or over look the fact that there are more, older posts.
But the one turn off is the pricing. It looks very much like a sales page. If that was what you where going for (and it works), then by all means - it looks very professional. But if your focus is on reviews, than I would put the pricing as a footnote. If they are interested in what you have reviewed, they will buy it. It all just seems very overwhelming when you have the price as one of the very first things they see.
That’s the funny thing about humans. Lol Focus first on the content, then the sales will come.

It's a start. It looks like your blog is fairly new. Focus on standing out from the crowd (which it looks like you're doing a pretty good job of). It's definitely original. I like the colors.
The bottom of your blog is looking a little cluttered, just because you have a bunch of different sized ads there. See if you can’t streamline them a bit; get some good flow goin there and organize it a bit.
Here's a tip: Sometime, step back from your blog and take a viewers perspective. From the viewer's perspective, look at what you don't like about your blog, what's not working, and how you would improve it. It does wonders!

Hey Brix, good to see you again. I think that header really helped a lot. It's very cool. I'm conflicted about your left nav bar though. There's just too much room there. I feel like there is a lot of wasted space there. If it where just a bit smaller, then it wouldn't be as big a bother, but it's competing with your content. You don't want your nav bar to be too over powering. Your main focus, after all, is the content.
Still try and figure out some type of anchor at the bottom. It will work miracles!!!

I like this blog, but I was kind of disappointed when I was reading the blogs. They are very short, but then I discovered the hidden link in the title. That threw me for a loop. You need some type of in-text link, or a lot of people are going to be disappointed. A link like: More, Article, or View Article.
I love the material that it links to, but unless you know the link is there, your readers will be non-the wiser.

Love your blog! I would of given you a 10 on graphics, but I felt like your articles where a little text heavy. If that's what you want, by all means, keep it up. But, I would suggest implementing more pics in to your articles. I love your icons and especially how they tie in to the articles. I like the organization and how the theme is repeated! I love it!

Great job! I'm thinking you designed this yourself - am I right?
-
Hi Duke.
Wow, I almost have a tear in my eye from those kind words. ;-)
Articles text heavy - roger that, will change accordingly.
At this rate I'll have to start paying you for those kind words, people will start talking lol.
I did blog myself. I knew nothing about web design or blogging. Taught myself in 6 weeks.
THANK YOU again Duke, it means a lot to me to have (constructive) feedback.-
LOL
I think if you where to pay me, there would be people talking - lol
It's rigged! lol J/K
That's way awesome!
I'm a graphic designer and IDK if I'd be able to make a site that good.
Maybe I need to take some lessons from you.
I'm glad my feedback helped.
I'm excited to see the improvements.
Good luck and keep up the good work!
-
-
So you're a graphic designer Duke.
I am looking to start a new career, need to see how my solar ovens and free energy devices sell first, if they don't sell, then it's web dev for me afraid :-( I started my career doing PL/1 and I don;t want to go down that road again.
Not too keen on web dev, but blogging is much more fun as it's so dynamic.
Not many jobs advertise for bloggers et al, do you think this trend will change. Do you think the next dot com boom will be blogging related.
What is your experience as a graphic designer, is your job mostly marketing / branding for your clients. Do you build many blogs for your clients. Is this a potentially lucrative niche. So many questions, so little time :-)-
Ummm... lol
A lot of questions.
I'm probably not the best person to ask, seeing as how I'm just going to school right now.
I haven't really explored freelance that much, but from what I can see, it's a very, very competitive field!
You either have more work than you can handle, or hardly any work at all.
I would say, keep your day job. Lol
At least until you get a good handle on it.
Like any business, you have to build a customer base. People that like you, like your work and respect what you do. I've looked in to freelance boards and all that, but it is extremely competitive. It's hard to get noticed.
If you want to go the freelance route, I would suggest attacking your friends and family. Get established with them first and then build off that base. Or, if your desperate, I would go the old fashioned way and hand out business cards.
Your portfolio is key when getting jobs. You have to be able to stand out. And you have to know what you're doing. The more you know, the more you can market to your client. I am not very comfortable in the web design yet. I don't know code like I should and I'm very insecure in that area. So, I'm not sure about that.
I would have to say, your skill sets are very important!
You could just do logos, but that’s a small market. The more you know, the more you can offer, the more business you get and so on.
Not sure about the blogging fade. It seems like everyone is doing it now a-days, but there’s still a big market for them. There’s three types of bloggers. Professional bloggers, Average bloggers, and Crappy bloggers. It’s pretty easy to sort them out. I think, if you have enough time and you have a blog that stands out and is original enough, you’ve got an excellent shot.
Again, blogging is about establishing a reading base (customer base). Once you’ve blogged for awhile, people will start talking about it and that’s where the word-of-mouth market comes in. My brother in-law, a professional photographer, his whole business comes from WOM Marketing. He doesn’t do any other type of marketing. It’s amazing! : )
Best of luck to you - keep in touch!
I would love to network with you.
And, if you can’t tell, my second passion is business. Lol ; )
-
-
Cheers for the heads up Duke, much appreciated.
I guess I am inpatient. I realise I need to let my blog seed itself in the matrix. Give it 3 months. I will take your advice on board, and concentrate on offering my customers and readers good content on the subject of free energy.
Let me know if you want me to design a logo for you. For free of course. The pleasure would be all mine. Or any help with code, I know a little and I would be only too happy to help, especially after all your replies and feedback on this post.
I am a firm believer that the art of altruism isn't dead... yet :-(
Regards
Rob -

Looking good. Very clean, very nice. I like the graphics.
Couple comments -
One: In some places, your content looks a little tight. Don't be afraid to space things out a bit. Breathing room is never bad (not too much though).
Two: I would suggest putting a horizontal banner or something at the bottom. That vertical Blogsphere widget looks kind of harsh and out of place. But that's just my opinion.
Third: Work on your left nav bar. Looks a little empty, but it will fill out over time. Add some more blogs to your blog roll, maybe add some graphics, widgets or ads - unless you're trying to keep that clean look, whick is working BTW. There's a fine line between clean and empty.
But it's looking good.
I enjoyed your blog!
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. My husband designed my banner. It's from my business. Can I ask what you mean by vertical ads? Do you mean the Amazon favorites? If it is I use it because I do book reviews, so my books are included there, as I review them. Was that it?
-
At the very bottom of your blog, there's some vertical ads that are centered. In my own opinion, I would try and keep those banners horizontal. It just kind of throws off the eye. Besides the fact that there is a lot of empty space to the right and left of the ad/widget/banner. lol But if you like it, by all means, keep it that way.
Either way, I still like your blog.

Nice blog. Very professional. Looks like it's still a young blog. Ummm...it's kind of hard to find things (not a bad thing, just kind of inconvenient for the reader). You kind of have to hunt for things because they're not where you would expect them to be.
All the intros to the blogs are kind of buggin. Personally - I like to being able to see the blog right there and then instead of having to click to read more (maybe I‘m just lazy - lol). But if that's your style, run with it. There's nothing wrong with it.
IDK - It's looking good. I'm sure you'll make some good improvements as you go along.
Keep up the good work!

I've looked at your blog before! I like it a lot! I thought the topics on your articles where very intriguing. I really got pulled in to the article about being watched. I'm going to have to come back for a closer look.
Ummm...watch your vertical spacing with your elements in the side bars. Always better to have a little too much room than not enough room.
And...have you considered putting a conclusion or something at the bottom of your blog? It does amazing wonders. I promise!!! Even if it's just a brown bar or something. Just so the articles don't run off the page - leaves your readers hangin.

There are some bad pics that aren't showing. I don't mind the background color, but watch your text color. If you're goin to do a dark green background like that, your text (all) needs to be white. Watch the spacing of your icons and stuff. If there is too much room between pictures/icons, it can look empty.
This is a reoccurring theme in my comments. I would suggest you put a cap on the bottom of your blog. This gives the reader a sense of completion, where as, if there's nothing to conclude the blog, the reader feels like they are left hanging. A header graphic (leader board) would be nice too.
Love the blog comments on the left column!

By cap I mean footer. Something to tie everything in and give your readers an ending point. And...from what I see, you have somewhat of a footer there. I guess I didn't see that either. Nice! lol
One last thing - that loooong column on the right is killing me. I hate blogs like those. But you can do whatever you want. It's just a pain to scroll all the way down just to read the column. Maybe that's just me.
Otherwise I would of given you better marks on the flow.
BTW: It was my pleasure.

Looove the layout! Very original. You don't see that everyday. Very nice, very simple. It looks a little too simple if you know what I mean. It looks a little empty and short in content. How to fix it?
Here's a suggestion - I would dig up some awesome pics and do some artical intros on your side columns. Just put a 100x100 pic and do a little intro. Throw a few of these up there and introduce readers to some of your best articles. That way you will give them some awesome pics that will draw your reader in to the meat of your blog. It's short, but it makes an amazing impact.
Along with that I would suggest this...try to stay away from the article intros in the main part of the blog. I think most readers are turned off by that. If you're going to do articles on the home page, give them the whole thing. Don't make them click to read more. That's why I suggested the other.
And...make sure to cap the end of your blog. Give the reader something to conclude the blog with. A banner, a graphic, something. Anchor it down. The reader is wondering if that's it, or if there's more. They feel lost. Give them something to make them feel fulfilled after having read your blog.

Nice blog. Nice pillar articles!
Very informative. You've incorporated your pics and graphics nicely. Seems really text heavy though. Your columns are packed tight. I was kind of disappointed to see there wasn't a header (leaderboard) image. I would put a header on there, but it's not necessary. Nice!

Not bad. Your header image looks a little stretched. IDK how you'd fix it. It's a nice image. In your articles, your text is touching the pictures. Try and space the text over a bit.
Other then that, it's good.
-
Thanks Duke,
In the case of the free-hosted wordpress.com blog onecoolsite.wordpress.com the theme I chose does not allow for a custom header. Those that do allow for one are not full screen themes and they reduce the blogging column to a narrow strip.
Will you please expand on what you mean by: "Seems really text heavy though. Your columns are packed tight. "
Also, what do you mean by "flow" please?
In the case of my wp self-hosted blog thistimethisspace.com the header is indeed a stretched photo of a painting and I could do a better job of it. On this blog I change the headers frequently.
Within the articles as the theme was not coded to provide any margin padding around images the only way I can achieve that is by adding a background coloured border to each image prior to upload and I've been too lazy to do that. -
Text heavy - just meaning that there is a lot of text. I guess for an informational blog it works ok, but as far as aesthetics go, it's not very pleasing to the eye. Even a little spacing in the columns would be good. Let it breath a little bit. Even nice topic headers (graphics) in the columns would work nicely. You can see an example of that on my blog.
Flow - How things flow from one element to another. Sometimes you'll see other blogs where the columns will go much longer than the main blog area and you have a loooong column where the rest is empty, or visa versa (where the blog column is much, much longer than the column) and just elemental things like that. Sometimes there will be large gaps in between the different elements or in the column. Stuff like that. Good flow means when your eye can easily move between the elements and your not having to jump around too much.
Pics & Texts - Understandable. For the most part, it's just that little professional touch we're talking about. If you have hundreds of readers and you do this professionally (full time) I would absolutely suggest you taking the extra time to put a buffer in between the pics and the text. If not - then you really shouldn't worry too much about it. -
I'm glad you gave me the opportunity. It really was my pleasure. I'm glad you asked for an explanation. Sometimes I don't quite make myself clear. It also gives me a chance to get clear with other bloggers as well.
I'm glad you are satisfied.
I'm curious to see any updates you make. Keep me updated.

Nice header image!
I appreciate the fact (as I'm sure a lot of others do) that you have a translation option at the top right. Great way to reach different readers. Articles are nice. Your right column is a little cluttered though. Try and cut down on your pics. Choose only your best images and space them out a bit. Maybe even caption some or all of them. That will space them out a bit. If they're too tight, it looks cluttered.
Nice!

You have a lot of room for improvement. Throw a nice header (leaderboard) image on there and a nice footer to cap it off and that will work wonders. Your articles are looking nice. The column is very neat. It looks like it's getting there. Better it be nice and neat than full and cluttered.
Don't be afraid to space your pics out a bit from the text.

And...the article intros are killin me too. I'm not a fan of those. I don't think the reader should have to click to read more. Maybe that’s just me.

Nice.
First off, watch your spacing. Be sure to space the body text away from the article title. Don't ever let your text touch your pictures, videos or widgets. It will work wonders.
Maybe throw a better conclusion on the end of your blog. There's something there, but I don't feel like it's enough. Try and find something that spans the width of the blog or just center those elements you have on there. Don’t just leave them to one side. Maybe find some type of banner, widget, advertisement, or picture. Give us the sense that it is the end and we can move on.
Other than that, it looks nice.
Your columns are looking nice and they seem like they are put together well. They are functional and look good. Good spacing.

The thing that is killing me is your column. I don't know why people do this. Maybe it's a trend, but it just annoys the heck out of me. Your reader shouldn't have to scroollll alllllll theee waaayyy down to just read your column and see what's there.
But - if you like it that way, then by all means, continue.

I was going to say throw some more graphics up there at the top and at the bottom of your blog, but it looks very nice the way it is. I think the simple, clean look really hits home. You've got a nice set up here.
Keep it this way. Don't be tempted to clutter it up. It looks very professional.

Not bad. Your layout looks very elementary, but that's not a bad thing. I think it works. Your theme looks very classy. The borders remind me of a photography website or blog.
One thing is for sure, I couldn't stay on your blog very long. The colors get to you after awhile. The bright orange and white on the dark black. Don’t get me wrong - the colors work as a theme. Don’t feel like you need to change it.
One thing I noticed was that you have a LOT of articles that are archived. That is a HUGE waste. No one is going to dig through your archives. Those articles are valuable property. You’ve spent the time writing them and putting them together. There’s no reason why they should just fall by the wayside.
You need to dig through your articles and pick out all of your best ones and then list them in categories in your column. Or…even using the label feature on Blogger would help tremendously and would work to your advantage. That would be a simple solution to the problem.
If you do that, then your blog will gain instant value. You have 83 articles that will never see light again unless you draw attention to them. Your articles are entertaining and informational. Consider them your intellectual property. They have value. They shouldn't go to waste.
So work on that for me and get back to me. I would love to see what you come up with.

Your blog is a writer's dream. Unfortunately, if you want people to dive in to your content, they're going to need something to pull them in. All those words can turn some people off. They don't want to sit there and read, and read, and read.
Most people want to see nice, beautiful pictures, and they want the bullet points of the discussion. They don't want to have to read the whole thing to get your point and to get what you're driving at. You want to be able to hit the high points and then expand on them.
If I were you, I would learn how to add pics and other content to your articles. That would be invaluable to you at this time. It would pull your readers in and give them an idea of what they are about to read. There are many, many royalty free images on the web. But be sure to get a Photobucket account or some type of image hosting account.
IF you like it the way it is, then run with it. All I'm saying is, you're not going to attract many readers with it like it is.

This is a blog nightmare sorry to say. At first I was accosted by a loud radio advertisement or something. IDK what it was. Then, I saw the nice flowery background and I'm thinking ok, maybe it's not too bad. Then, I looked at the title which let us know it was for programming help. I'm thinkin ok - they're a programmer and they like flowers. Then going down, down, down over the plain text articles, I come to a bunch of flash games. Why there are a dozen games at the bottom of this blog IDK.
So - it really is a mish-mash of stuff. No real concise design or flow. This blog is going in so many different directions, it's crazy.
Dude - you're going to need to rework this ENTIRE blog.
If you're going to do games, only do a few. And try to incorporate graphics in to your articles. As for the flowers…well - if you’re going to do a blog on programming help, I would suggest you dump the flowers.
All I can say is - that's a start.
You've got a lot of work to do.

I would put at least three blogs up front on the main part of your blog. People are just going to pass up your blog if they aren’t interested in your first blog. Hi, thanks for your views. I would have given 0 - 2.5 for graphics because I have not been using any for weeks. Are you using the graphics to judge the content? I found at the beginning of the thread today that you are not reading the blogs but only giving your opinion regarding the first impression. I must apologize for submitting my link here without reading that. I'm just curious to find out whether you gave marks for my content after looking at the first two posts in my blog. I would have given only 4 - 5 because in the second one you will find only 41 links and the first one is all about restrictions other than the featured one.
Anyway, I agree with you regarding graphics. It is important to have graphics to attract visitors, especially if they are not reading the content and judging the blog by graphics. Thanks again for reminding me that. I added some graphics today to make it attractive. But I am more concerned about my writing. Sorry for wasting your time-
My point was not to offend.
I hope you did not take it the wrong way.
Sadly enough, it's what draws a reader in, that matters.
Graphics are an integral part of any decent blog.
You could have the best writing in the world, but unless someone is pulled in and curious, you're going to be over looked. Simple as that.
As for first impressions, that's what most people judge on, not just me.
First impressions determine whether a reader stays long enough to read your stuff.
And as for graphics - I am a graphic designer, so yes, to me, graphics are important.
I do not think you wasted my time, but if you feel bad about the review and my stance on things, I would urge you to read the whole thread before offering your blog up for review.
Non-the-less: Thank you for the chance to look at your blog.
PS: I do not judge on writing and grammar.

Hello, here is my blog:
"Del otro lado del charco" (means "from the other side of the sea") charcotrip.com (my travel journals, is a spanish mostly, then english, and sometimes french language blog)
I consider my blog, as serious (at least to me and my people) cause is the way that I use to communicate and share with them (and with those who want to see, even if they dont know me) all my experiences abroad...
The fuzzy banner... the idea is to show that is a collage of souvenirs... some people like it some don't... but well the reason of why is fuzzy that I want to express that those are souvenirs...
Any feedback is good

Hello,
Thanks a lot for your review!
Yes the articles are listed like that cause an article alone is really big, so I just put the title and a little picture to it. So instead of seeing a big article in the index page the visitors see a list of titles of places and they choose the one they prefer to read.
The thing of the language, yes is true the blog is thought mainly for Spanish readers. The strange thing is that the last 20 (or more) articles are written in both languages (you see the spanish text in normal and the english in italic or bold, for example here: charcotrip.com/?fatima), but I have been noticing many people, like you did, that is telling me they cannot read the articles, in the ones written in just spanish i can understand, but these last ones... I dont know why happens this.
Can you suggest me a way to do it more noticeable? (more than normal text / italic text), cause if you see for example the last article is written in both languages... in fact writing the same thing twice is a pain, so at least I would want it to be noticed
hehehe
Thanks a lot again

I just saw the intro and it was in spanish, so I didn't bother clicking on it to read the whole article.
There should be translation widgets around.
Here's one called Babel Fish:

Good luck!

Thank you, I will review it
The same language issue just happened a moment ago with entrecard, they just told me my account was deleted because my blog was not in english :S and I answer them that yes it was, that they should check it well... and they just restore the account...
The funniest thing is that a month ago I was rejected from a Spanish Blog Directory, they told me my blog was not 100% in spanish and that was not allowed :S

Awesome blog!
I enjoyed it a lot.
Watch your spacing. Make sure your text doesn't touch your picture or the top of your article. Spacing can be a good thing.
One thing that always bugs me, not only on your blog, but any blog, is when the side column comes down below the main article column. Drives me nuts!
I would suggest trying to pull that column back up (unless you like it like that) and then putting a footer on the bottom of your blog.
Other than that, it looks good.
Love the poems!

I'll try to put on my big girl panties and deal with it if the review is negative:

A little text heavy. Try to get more pics in your articles. That's always a good thing to have (pics). But, you’ve got a solid enough blog that you're not hurting by not having a lot of pics. You do have a lot of pictures, but they are clumped in one article or another.
If when you don't want to add pics, then focus on the look of your articles. Make your articles a little different from the one before it. Work on your layout - bold and italicize certain words, bullet things of importance, center certain things, maybe space somethings apart; do something to distinguish it from the article before it. That way, when your readers are looking through your blog, something will catch their eye and pull them in.
If your blog is too text heavy, people will just pass you by. People just don't have the time to read your whole article. They will naturally gravitate to a topic of interest, and if one article looks more appealing than another, they will read that one first. The reader needs something to pull them in. Break it up and make it look appealing to them.
But really - you have a very decent blog.
I love the graphics on your banner. Who did those? They're freakin awesome!

Not bad.
I love the idea behind your blog.
Your blog as a whole looks very amateur, but the content is excellent.
Work on your overall appeal.
I would suggest having someone work on a banner for you.
That would be a nice touch.
Also work on your side bar and your footer as well.
Good luck!

Your content is good.
Flow is decent.
It seems pretty basic and simple.
Nothing to really set you apart from other blogs.
I would work on developing your own look and style.
Right now - your blog is just...ok.
Good luck!

Nice.
Looks very professional.
Looks like you're lacking on content though.
Did you just start?
It looks like you just have that one entry.
If there's more, I missed it.
I really appreciated that translator.
I wouldn't of been able to read it otherwise.

I've really enjoyed reading your reviews and have visited a couple just based on your comments. If you're still doing reviews, I would very much appreciate one on mine. It's not a professional blog, but it's a topic that I'm serious about and want to do the best job I can. toddlerglasses.wordpress.com

Very cute!
Adorable.
I love the look of your blog.
Very cute, very simple.
I think it works great with the subject.
It looks like your articles are pretty text heavy.
Not a bad thing, but be sure to work on your article layout.
Make sure your articles appear different and unique from one another.
Do something to pull the readers in.
Bold, italicize, center, right justify, bullet...
You get the idea.
I would love to see a follow-up.
Good luck!

First off...
Your blog appears very professional.
The black background, the banner, the flow of your blog...it all seems very professional.
Suggestions...
I would put more posts up front.
Currently you only have three posts.
People will look at them, read them, and move on.
So, I would suggest putting more posts up front.
If you're ambitious, I would suggest promoting some of your favorite/popular posts, either on the side bar or in the body of your other posts.
And...
You could do one of two things.
Either - Add more graphics(if you want).
Or - Work on your article layouts.
Do something to make your articles attracting to the reader and to set them apart from one another. Bold, italicize, center, right justify, bullet. Do something to set them apart, because after a couple posts, they all start looking the same and very boring.
Good luck!

First off...
Not a fan of the "read more" option.
My opinion - Bag it!
Also...you only have three posts on your front page.
Add more!
Good luck!
PS - Work on your blog design as well
Thanks for your comments,i personally think read more option is good instead of making your homepage so long its kinda irritating a visitor can easily loose interest because of too much of information on one page, same goes for the adding more post thing, but i will definitely agree with blog desing its simple default template i am looking for something professional and hopefully will implement soon. -

I like the look.
Love the graphics at the top.
You get tired of scrolling through the posts after awhile though.
Normally, I don't like the read more option, but in your case, it might be a good thing to consider.
Either that, or just cut your number of posts down a little.
Good job.

Well, I am glad I stumbled into this discussion. I have been needing a review from a site designer's perspective. Lately, I have been feeling unhappy with my layout (I am contemplating creating my own theme).
If you have time, I would definitely appreciate a review to see where I need to improve!
Thanks!
Oh yea, my blog is at www.wild-facts.com
