It's absolutely shameless how I'm plugging my latest YouTube video! As we wrap up our winter season at the Wine Country Inn, please take a few minutes of your time to see how beautiful our vineyards look blanketed in fresh Colorado snow. You can view the video on my blog at:

Or directly on my YouTube channel at:

What an absolutely gorgeous place, I might have to take up my Aardvark discount!
I would say though that I thought the cuts were a little too quick in the editing, need to give the eye more time to take in the images.-
Thanks, Anin! Yeah, some of the cuts do pass by rather quickly. This is due largely to my amateur production values. I don't even have a tripod yet, and am doing hand held shots on a five-year old camera. So some of my cuts are kinda jumpy and tend to bounce around. I guess I should've given each cut at least three seconds. Would've given the viewer more time to soak it all in.

I'm by no means an expert on editing it just seemed rushed to me that's all.
How about "La dell invito tracorsa e gia l'ora" from the first act of La traviata, it's quite bouncy and might be easier to cut too.

I Don't think there is a golden rule but with something like this you have to really use the music as a guide, from my own personal point of view I would have liked to have seen each pic for double the length I did.
Take your time this isn't sex with the wife it's something to enjoy.
You should have a word with Polybore he is quite an expert on these matters, editing not sex with your wife obviously! -
Like the La Traviata. I've bookmarked the YouTube page for future reference.
The whole thing is certainly a learning process. I need to follow the "15 second rule" better when filming, so that I have more opportunities to edit in longer clips in the finished product. It's certainly a fun process, from start to finish. I plan on producing even more, as I compile enough raw footage.
And someday, I'll have to film some of those aardvark mating habits. I hear it makes for stunning footage, if not exactly suitable for the kiddies to watch. -
Wouldn't it be easier to put photos straight into your computer rather than filming?
Aardvarks don't mate we are self reproducing, well my subspecies is.
We dig a large hole in the middle of a public car park usually at one of the larger malls. Which we then fill with torn up copies of celebrity "autobiographies" and old copies of Hello magazine. We then go into what is known in zoological circles as "An Aardvark stroking frenzy"
This creates a large lavender foam bubble encasing the the now highly sexed Aardvark within his nest. He will stay in this bubble for up to and sometimes over 25 minutes by which time he has slowed down his frenzy and the bubble has started to melt under the harsh conditions of halogen lighting and exhaust fumes.
When the foam totally evaporates BINGO! There's two Aardvarks and an argument about who will fill in the hole. -
I use a mixture of stills and video. iMovie has a great feature called "Ken Burns", named after an American documentarian with a penchant for lovingly panning over still shots. I wanted some video to add in at least some kinetic motion so that it would be a little more dynamic.
I thought with lavender aardvarks, they were stuffed against their will into antiquated photocopying machines and subjected to a series of probing, bright lights and leaky toner tests, with the eventual copy degrading after each new generation and turning out a little more corrupted than the last copy. The "original" aardvark then has suppressed memories of alien abduction and badly needs to smoke a cigarette. At least this is the fairly tale my mother used to tell me... -
That is just the myth we spread amongst your kind to avoid any lawsuits that may occur from our car park nesting activities. Even David Attenborough knows very little about the true mating habits of "Aardvarkius Lavendium"
Our mating activities are badly understood by science due to the Aardvarks extreme naughtiness under laboratory conditions.
The version I have related above maybe true or it maybe just another myth propagated by Aardvark kind to avoid legal complications and prying eyes.

Like the pink one suggests, slower tempo music and longer time on images.
Why no snuggly bedroom shots?
Its a lovely winter wonderland

This is a plush bed fit for a noble lavender aardvark such as yourself! You could lie in it all day long and eat ants and bon bons. Just don't sully the bed spreads.
The fluffy pillows make the bed look shorter than it is. And if you notice, shooting the bed at an angle is an old hotel trick. Normally it makes the bed look huge.

Wow! So beautiful... reminds me of home in a lot of ways. Our snow is just beginning to melt. Thanks for sharing. I loved the water in the stream with the icy sides. Awesome!

Enjoyed the video. Liked the driving along, watching the trees and mountains pass by. Reminded me of my vacation last summer in eastern and southern Colorado. A few more pix, like the fireplace one, to promote your interiors is an idea.

I appreciate it, busylizzy. I wanted to focus on the exterior and the snow rather than the interior. It was my attempt to let the natural beauty of the surrounding area speak for itself (and sell my property in the process). But I do like the fireplace shot, as it's supposed to "warm you up" after all that outdoor wintertime activity.

Lovely video. We just got our first truly warm day up here in Chicago. I just went for a long bike ride to enjoy the sun. Your hotel looks beautiful and luxurious.
I can't wait to see it in the full bloom of summer.
