Should I do PayPerPost?

Topics: Google Pagerank, payperpost
Just got admitted to PayPerPost when I applied months ago. I just learned that Google penalized PayPerPost's blogs.
Although I have no PageRank to begin with -- goes with the territory of changing URL a lot of times, i guess because my blog is not even cached, should I do PayPerPost?
would You?

Go for it, there's nothing really to lose.
One thing to avoid is putting any PPP banners on your site as google pick those up and PR0 you very fast (within days usually).
A problem that PPP'ers are finding is that high PR doesn't mean high RealRank. For instance, I've one site under a month old which has PR2 yet has no traffic. On the other hand, I've a PR4 site which has very high RealRank - I managed to pick up a 100 word post for $250 last night because of that. Many very high PR sites have very low traffic which means very low RealRank and virtually no posting opportunities for them.
At the moment, some advertisers look for pagerank, others for realrank but there's a definite drift to them looking for realrank lately.
Oh, if you want to get PR one easy way is to just ask google. You do this via www.google.com/webmasters/tools : add your blog, verify it, then do a "request reconsideration". This seems to work for sites that are very new as well as those marked down to PR0.
That blogspot article is a bit dated: you just need 10 posts over 30 days to register for ppp now. -
I dont think real rank is being recognized by the advertisers,,, Maybe some they do...But to most, advertsiers still measure the value of your blog through PAGE RANK. Of course the sponsors like PPP, would like to give their bloggers as many opps as they can ( they make money from that as well) but most of the advertisers still choose who's site they want their product to be link with.
If you have less page rank you'll have a hard time grabbing some task. But if you have PAGE RANK, you'll only wait for a second and you can grab the maximum opps they require within the day... Nahhhhh, not worth the time -
Along with what arnie7 said, add rel="nofollow" to any and all paid links, or any links inside a paid post. And follow PPP's disclosure rules! If you're straight up with Google and follow their rules, you should be fine.

PPP don't allow no follow links for most posts.
Page Rank, I suspect, is not going to be ursurped by RealRank. As much as PPP insist the idea of PPP is to get bloggers talking, what the advertisers by and large really want is to get their site on Google's front page for certain keywords. Page Rank matters here, Real Rank doesn't.
You can earn money from PPP though. I've taken a few thousand so far.

Aw, I was hoping for an obligatory link to your post on how you dislike blogs with ads.
Anywho, I think you should do whatever you want. If all your traffic comes from Google, then it might not be the best idea. If you don't get any traffic from Google and you probably won't get any overall, why not?

Honestly, if you get a lot of traffic to your site then Google Pagerank shouldn't even be a concern. I know a few bloggers who make thousands a month and they're PR0... so I would go for it!
And if you need some other paid review sites, just check out my site's latest post. -

you need to have high traffic for payperpost, and no point for joining to if you have low traffic coz they won't allow u to

payperpost aren't bothered about traffic when you sign up. All they ask for is 10 posts on a blog that is at least 30 days old. They'll approve anything that meets that regardless of anything else.
They will accept all PR0 blogs (exceptions being those with adult themes and the like). However, you won't get many opps with a PR0 - usually about one $5 a day and even then it's for 200 or 300 words.

I agree with filmasia.. But not all blog that has 0 page rank will not be accepted. But the downside of it is that you will get only few (as in few) opp.

I think as long as you disclose what you're doing to readers, all's well. I don't do PPP, but if it fits the concept of your blog, it's the same as doing a paid (book)review for Kirkus, right? I haven't done that either, but I don't see anything wrong--as long as you tell 'em you're getting paid. best, Kay

I'm stuck in the situation since months ago.. I'm not working so any form of income is of course welcomed. But to write a post for advertisers without any genuine interest in them, I find it really hard to do. I've visited so many sites that have loads of posts but I know they are all some form of marketing gimmick or another. I'm just not interested in reading them after 2 visits.
To be frank, I'm even a little embarassed to put adsense ads on my blog while I'm preaching about being ethical.
Just my personal opinion.
