Should "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" be banned from public school "Holiday" singing?

Or would this be hypocritical. In a country that supposedly prides itself on the consitutional concept of separation of church and state, why is Christmas still a holiday. Is there something here I'm not getting? Christmas finds public schools and government offices on every level closed up tight every December 25th in recognition of this holiday. And if it's not a religious holiday, then what would you call it? Maybe we should just change the name to something more akin to what it really is, for example, National Give Presents You Can't Afford Day. Or Day of National Remembrance of the Family, for the more sentimental. But let's leave the poor little forest critter with the nasal birth defect out of it.

Rudolph is a fairytale. If you have seen the movie, you might realize it has more to do with mythological silliness than religion. I have a hard time seeing the movie in religious terms. You might consider Santa religious, but Yukon Jack, the elven dentist, the abominable snow monster are really more of a bad parody than religion. The narraator is a snowman.

There is no "constitutional concept of separation of church and state." The same people who concocted that historical revision to justify getting the subject of God out of public schools are the same ones killing off Rudolph too!
"If yer gonna' sleep with the dogs... yer gonna' get their fleas too!"
Here's a post that clarifies Thomas Jefferson's reasons for mentioning "separation" and why he would roll over in his grave if he knew how his words have been so mis-represented by his fellow countrymen here in the United States of America:
'What "Separation of Church and State" meant to the author of it - President Thomas Jefferson'

Rudolph was a story created for a department store it fed into the commercialism of the holiday and not religion that is if you know the history of Rudolph. St. Nicholas on the other hand did exist a very long time ago. He gave gift to poverty stricken children. The meaning of Christmas or solstice or whatever you want to call it is on you. You have the responsibility to tell your family instead of gifts can we volunteer time at Make A Wish or donate to a soup kitchen. The meaning of the holiday is for each individual to decide what to do with it. The spirit of it is in your heart and nothing more.

Oooops! Sorry, I should have referenced the topic a little better. This is about a news item a few days ago - "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was almost grounded at Murrayville Elementary School this week after a parent complained about the classic Christmas song’s inclusion in her daughter’s upcoming kindergarten concert." Here's the whole link: www.starnewsonline.com/article/20081205/articles/812050251

If they remove one of my favorite songs then I'm going to get really pissed! This whole religion or lack thereof conflict is becoming ridiculous. The far reaching paranoid non-believers is infringing on my freedom of religious rights. Leave the song alone and I will wish you all a Merry Christmas, Happy Haunukah, Happy Quanza, Happy any other religious holiday. Happy Winter Soltice and Happy days for people who only believe in themselves. Now ... are we all happy? My apologies for misspelled words.
Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer is a freaking kids song. Get over it!
Believe or don't believe ... just stop trying to ruin it for everyone around you.
