Shoutbox vs a real comment on someones blog?

People blog to connect with others, people to blog to make money. I think that pretty well covers it. I don't understand why when I've taken the time to read someone's blog and leave a comment they take the short cut and email me instead of going to my blog, reading, and posting a comment. Or here on Blog Catalog, they leave a short blurp in the shoutbox, thanks for your comments and visiting my blog. If they appreciate my truly visiting their blog, why don't they do the same?
Anyone else frustrated by the one sidedness? Everyone loves to have their blog read, if they didn't, they'd write a personal diary and keep it private in their own home rather than posting it on the net.

Hey Sandy
I leave comment on others blogs and I too get the email.
I don't let it bother me the person may not even realize how one sided they are. Don't let it change you keep doing what your doing.-
I agree. Just keep on keeping on and know that any shout you get like this can be deleted. You don't have to answer them just click the "delete" link.
If you get any shouts that ask you to kiss ads (click on advertising) then you can click the "spam" link. See this advice from TonyB
