I don't have screenshot software on this computer, but I can tell you that it's a movie poster for "My Name Is Bruce" over the middle two thirds and to columns of icons on the left side. The background is black.

Like Shoegirl I don't know how to take a pic of it either but it is this photo I took of a gull that nicked my bag of chips last time I was at the seaside.

This is mine. Yes, I'm a Linux geek. Yeah didn't upload the image the best but most should get the gist of it.-
Yes and No Anok. Yes and No Anok. Stick with windows XP it will do you no harm. However if you get a second PC, perhaps for punky, try putting Ubuntu on it (one of the linux versions) it is amazing considering it costs nothing. You can get a second hand PC for peanuts (or nothing) that will do everything you require of it.

It depends on your ambitions and needs to be honest. It can be hard because there is a lot of focus around a command line interface (Linux was built in the vision of Unix) like Windows used to have with DOS. No it does not necessarily require much CLI usage anymore depending on the type of Linux you get, but it can make your life easier. This is why I mentioned about your ambition too. Are you willing to go to the library and read linux books, etc. But otherwise no it is not difficult if your needs are simple or have the ambition of an moderate to advanced user. Also this can be very easy to use if you don't need Windows only software. Windows software can work on Linux, but trust me on this one it can be a pain in the you know what to make it work properly. If you have basic needs it is simple as can be most of the time. Plus it can be FREE! Some Linux can be commercial but many distributions have followed a free some of community in effort to improve the quality of it by allowing as many people as possible to use it and attempt to improve it. If you want to pay for commercial support I suggest Redhat. If you want free I suggest Ubuntu. Ubuntu is what I use and the forums are fantastic. Lots of knowledgeable and helpful people are on them so if you do have any problems chances are somebody there will help you and walk you through whatever you need. But like I said you can get a lot of software free: GIMP is like Photoshop, Firefox is like Internet Explorer, OpenOffice is like Microsoft Office, GnuCash is like Quicken, Screenlets is like Windows Widgets, Compiz Fusion is like nothing else as it makes your desktop 3D and allows for multiple desktops (the prettier the more cpu usage), etc. My suggestion to you Anok is download it and burn it to a disc as a LIVE cd or order one and wait - for Ubuntu. What you do is you boot up your computer from your cdrom once the disc is in it and select the option to run it from the disc. This way you don't install it and you can explore it and test it out now and then to decide if you like it or not. Also another tip is to burn it to a DVD vs a CD if you download it as it will run faster that way (they ship free as CD). Also many library's I have noticed will pick up older versions of The Ubuntu Book (which is official and very helpful) - search Ubuntu at your library and see what you come up with. And the website is www.ubuntu.com/
You can request a free cd here shipit.ubuntu.com/
You can download it free here www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download
Again like I said my suggestion is to get it and to test it out Live without Installation. This way you get your hands on it and try it out without making any alterations to your computer.
