Have you met anyone famous, or do you have a friend, a friend of a friend, or a friend of a friend of a friend who knows someone famous?

Because of my wife's heart condition, we were able to meet Snow Patrol, Stevie Nicks, Dolores O'Riordan and a few other artists. My wife's friend shared a room in college with Judy Tenuta (middle-aged bloggers...remember her?), and my wife's father was a high school pal of Bob Newhart.

Who do you know, or who do you know who knows someone we all know?

(Sorry--it seems the Tiny Tim link won't display properly here.)

How did you end up meeting them?
    2. LGramlich
They both showed up where I worked (different times & places, though.)
I also forgot, I worked as a concierge where Alpo Suhonen (former asst. coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs,) & Gordon Pinsent lived. Alpo gave me a BUNCH of official NHL photos when he left.

Well according to the oracle of bacon, I am connected to Kevin Bacon by 2, remember to use stage name : Lorelei Mahoney

lorelei mahoney has a Matt Damon number of 2.
lorelei mahoney has a Johnny Depp number of 2.
lorelei mahoney has a Michael Jackson (I) number of 2.
lorelei mahoney has a Christina Ricci number of 2.
lorelei mahoney has a Tim Burton (I) number of 3.

I can't think of anyone else, so if you are on IMDB for acting/writing/etc just go here oracleofbacon.org/cgi-bin/movielinks and figure it out lol

I've always prefered the reverse of that: Choosers cannot be beggars. Choose the wrong one, you'll be begging a way out of it for a very, very long time! lol

I live a couple hours from Aspen. A lot of housekeepers over there live over here. You name them, I probably know someone who has cleaned up after them!
    1. ArsenicCookies
I wanna live a couple hours away from Aspen!!!
    2. DaniG
The nice thing is we are about 2 hours from Telluride, too.
    3. dbowles1017
      I hate(ish) you Dani...
    4. DaniG
That's a shame, DB. I'd be a good friend to have!
    5. DaniG
DB, I thought you fire fighter types had an abundance of the snow bunny types at your disposal. And your blog showed them all in snow-bunnyish costumes, too! Aren't you sick of them already?
      LMAO
    6. dbowles1017
      Kansas doesnt have snow bunnies.

I might hate you less if I move to Denver though ;p
    7. DaniG
LOL, DB! Denver's still 4.5 hours away. I don't know which one, but one of my blog entries has a photo of my view from my house - you'd better not look at it or you will REALLY hate me. Re: KS snow bunnies, that's what ski instructors are for! lol! Being a fireman, I thought you'd start with the elementary aspects of skiing first...like falling down atop other skiers...Very important this!
    8. dbowles1017
Yes but Denver is only 1 hourish from keystone and breck. I already saw it. ;p

No mountains>no skiing> no teaching snow bunnies> no snow bunnies> no falling on snow bunnies
    9. DaniG
Ah, the view from my front window is on my blog. It's under the blog post titled Slipforming, part 4 - Death and destruction. It is the third photo down from the top of the post. It really IS a beautiful place to live. I don't imagine it was THESE mountains you were hoping to oogle, though.
    10. DaniG
Trust me, as a Colorado native, Keystone and Breck got NOTHIN' on Aspen and Telluride. I really like Telluride probably best. Vail was good, too. But then again, I'm not shopping for fluffs. Good luck on that. Perhaps one will set her apartment on fire making jello... (That was mean and insensitive of me...Naughty Dani, naughty Dani!!! Three strikes with wet noodle.)
    11. dbowles1017
Yeah, I know. Colorado is my favorite place to visit. What mountains are you talking about? ;p

Yeah Telluride is nice. I dont care for Aspen, I dont have enough money to fit in there.
    12. DaniG
There's a lot of guys who go for the black diamond ones - but I'm betting your the DD type.

      LMAO!
    13. dbowles1017
      lol. I'll take DD's, D's, C's, B's, A's, blues, greens, double diamonds, ect
    14. DaniG
Very open minded. I'm sure I know someone in your size!
    15. dbowles1017
      Beggars can't be choosers.

"I've always prefered the reverse of that: Choosers cannot be beggars. Choose the wrong one, you'll be begging a way out of it for a very, very long time! lol"

lol. But choosers can choose, and beggars can only take what they are given ;p
    1. DaniG
Don't undersell yourself there DB. Aside from the horns, I don't see anything deal-breaking - and some girls LIKE horns. ;p
    2. dbowles1017
It's the no job, and living with the parents ;p
    3. DaniG
Yeah, but all that is changing. I hate to leave this exchange, but I'll have to catch up later. Ugh!
    4. DaniG
DB, lest you might have forgotten, I can already tell, through countless exchanges--on here--that you are smart, witty, funny, intellectual, have inventive aspirations - you are, as they say here, "all that and a bag of chips." Your "no job" is curable (and probably temporary)and so is the "living with your parents." I married a guy just like you - and I adore him still (19 years later)! The guys I feel sorry for are the ones with real problems. Like no horns. You're young - and good at it. Celebrate it - but don't get used to it. That's what granny always said anyway. I'm out for the night now, so Happy Halloween and we'll chat again soon. Oh, and thanks for the help with the brandy. Not sure it's "thick." I'll taste it several more times and let you know. lol

The only famous person, that some of you will probably recognize, that I know, is Lupillo Rivera.

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=quT_hL46ovI

His Grandma lives a block away from my Grandma's house and he goes at least once a year to bring her serenata.

I know, I'm ashamed, I shouldn't have said it *runs away in embarrassment*

I've "met" Dr. J right before he shanked a tee shot into the woods at a charity event.

And Spanish soap lovers, I've lit the cigarette for Adrianna Ricardo and got a little peck on the cheek for such a good deed.

I shook hands with Clint Eastwood 20 years ago. I was looking at the wiring diagram of a Beach King Air when he came walking in looking for gas. I didn't recognize him at first but I needed to leave the room and started walking toward him, as I got closer my brain was going "hey that's Clint Eastwood". When I got close to him I stuck my hand out and sad "how you doen?" he shook my hand and turned his head to me as he started following the guy who was going to pump gas in his chopper and said "I'm doing pretty good" and smiled.

I'm 6' 2" and I was looking up at him. Pretty tall guy

I know (in varying degrees) a lot of people in the music industry: Rick Springfield, Paul Kingery (3 Dog Night), Beeb Birtles (the original Little River Band), Keith Howland (guitarist for Chicago), Lance Morrison (former Don Henley bassist), Derek Hilland (keyboardist for Whitesnake and Iron Butterfly), Dana Miller (former manager of Elton John and the Beach Boys) and several others. I've also had one-time meetings or brief correspondence with many others I wouldn't say I "know".

I hope they weren't consulting you on something legal, jejeje
