I think the bigger question might be is the Oscar worth much these days. That aside I don't really get the hype around Slumdog - its a pretty average movie at best. The acting was ok but nothing amazing - take the kid playing thr main role, Dev Patel - he is supposed to be an Indian slum dweller yet his accent simply isnt Indian at all, much more middle class british.
