So I went to Yahoo Answers...

There I was, looking for questions that I could answer, and I found one that said something like this:

What is fashism? I have to write this report about the Axis of Evil and the Tripartite Treaty and fascism. I've got it all down and it has to do with World War 2 but I can't figure out what fascism is and what it has to do with WW2.

Am I really that old, or is this a really, really dumb question? I suspect (well, hope) that the "author" wrote two separate ones about the other two portions of the question, because otherwise I cannot understand how you can know anything about WWII and not know a thing about fascism.

That, of course, brings up my objection to the whole format over there, anyway. If someone is willing to do your research for you and then hand you the answers on a platter, how are you ever going to understand why there was a war in the first place? Blarg.

Many of the Q's and A's are spoofs. Sometimes I see people on forums boasting about weird Q's they've asked and providing links to other forum members.

Additionally, some people ask and answer their own questions as part of propaganda campaigns...saw that a lot in hostile debates about the McCanns.

The one about "Fashism" is a classic spoof, surely.

What is fashism? Isn't that the hatred of good fashion sense combined with a love of uniforms, commonly known as uniformism?

Think I'll steer clear of that place.

Unfortunately, some people treat the boards here in the same way. Instead of looking up very simple things, they would rather ask here, and they won't tell us whatever they might know already first.

I've learned my lesson there. I stick to the Computers & Internet questions and I've been able to help out lots of people and my tech support answers are often voted "Best Answer". I messed about in some of the other areas at one point but I had to back quietly away when I saw the insanity and poor spelling and grammar.
