So you know those computers in Cop cars...

A cop in Clinton, Illinois (yes, clinton 
) is accused of watching 23+ hours of porn on the computer inside his squad car while on duty...over the course of 15 days.

I had no idea that cops could actually browse the internet from their in-car laptops...I thought those things were just for running people's plates and entering data and other cop stuff.
$22 an hour to surf the web in your car AND carry a gun? sounds good! I always see them parked & looking intently at their laptops....and here I thought they were busy doing cop stuff!-
Anything that helps them "let off steam" is good for the rest of us

Every time I see a cop driving, it seems they are looking at their screen. I know a guy who is a cop and when he is off duty, he tailgates people, speeds like crazy and drives like a nut. He is really arrogant about it and if anyone says anything to him about it, he just says, "Well, I know the officers who are patrolling this area." -
Yep, it was all over the news here in Chicago (but has been bumped by the Blagoevish indictment) -
I think there are people in every professional that waste work time watching porn. We erroneously hold police officers up to a higher standard. I used to work for a very large insurance company and the phone bill got pretty high. They were able to trace most of the calls to a certain person's extension- he'd been calling one of those phone sex services. -
So what are the female officers looking at when they are in their squad cars? Are they watching that stuff too?-

It has nothing to do with him being an officer.
It has more to do with him being a male.
Unfortunately - males do tend to get bored and pornography tends to be the medium that they choose to alleviate their boredom. Sex tends to be the first thing males think about.
But EVERY job - with a computer interface, whether at a desk or not, the computer is invariably used for something other than work at some point.
And some officers have too much time (and perhaps other things!) on their hands at times. *G*-

Maybe the person he's supposed to watching runs a cam site at nite, and is its easier to watch a live feed instead of the front door.
