Having done some thinking about racialist politics and the pitfalls thereof, and seeing as BC has been having wide-ranging debates on the subject, I have done a blog post on black and white racialist thinking:

"The interests of white and black racial nationalists is the same — racial separatism. This serves to defend class society, merely splitting it along race lines. As Bobby Seale said, it doesn’t matter if a capitalist is black or white — they are still an exploiter and parasite. [...] The arse-backwards of black nationalists and left-liberal sympathisers, including the multicultural establishment, is that the way to overcome racial divisions is to, ur, create greater racial divisions. Anti-racism is no longer a matter of people coming together no matter their color, recognizing each other as brothers and sisters, it’s a matter of equal opportunities separatism and non-white racialism."

I suspect this is going to end up a hot-button topic, but I'll chime in that I agree that reverse racism is still racism, which means it's still wrong. You hear the term "level the playing field", but that can only appeal to someone who sees a giant scoreboard, with the whites vs the blacks.

I refuse to see things that way. Honestly I think if people looked into the reasons why we have different skin colors, they'd feel quite foolish harboring any racist sentiments at all.

Exactly kdawg68, not too long ago on Channel 2 they did a huge scientific test on people from Oprah
to Whoopi Goldberg showing that they were from different tribes and also had white in their bloodline.
The white gene was traced all the way in Siberia somewhere.
I see many black people with blue eyes, green eyes and still some white people think that they are wearing contacts. Vanessa Williams has blue eyes.
The black actor on CSI has blue eyes so this isn't a tale.
I think if more people realize what a diverse group of people black people really are
they will come to know that the term black is stupid
and we should stop separating ourselves and labeling ourselves as white or black.

Finally you utter words which resonate deeply within my heart. Now if only everyone would agree.

Reverse-racism is real to an extent, but look at the simple numbers...... America is 60%+ white and 14% black and like 13% hispanic so even if there is "reverse-racism it will not affect the majority group as much as racism has affected minorities.
********* I am not saying that 60% of white america is racist, just using numbers**************
    1. Jeunelle
Also gmoney I wonder if when they do take the count, they also include all the black people
that they have incarcerated in the prisons systems.
Just the other day Native americans and Black's clashed in the prisons
and many got killed over deep rooted hatreds.
Most of which is really cause by the system that whites created for all of us.
A system that fails to recognize that those people want opportunity too
and the system fails to change, leaving them to rot in prison.
    2. kdawg68
I've been affected by it - actually outwardly reverse racist policies effect everyone, just as racist policies do.

Numbers mean nothing. Is racism okay once you reach a certain percentage? What percentage is the magic number then when it's not okay to have racist policies against someone? Is it 50%? That seems madness to me.
    3. gmoney
      Jeunelle...

with the statement "Most of which is really cause by the system that whites created for all of us" you created a firestorm... I am going to sit back and watch.
  4. Jeunelle
It's the truth. Black people didn't create this system.
Where is it written that all black's came together
and said let's put all our black brothers and native americans in jail?
Most black men don't make it pass 40 years old, any money that they may have had coming in from past jobs, their Social Security money does not get to passed on to a son or daughter,
usually it goes back into the system. A study was done on this years ago.
  5. kdawg68
    Oh my

One last thought. I realize that by saying reverse racism is still racism, I present no "solution" to historical problems. I'll simply submit that reverse racism isn't a solution either.

The solution, and god willing one day we'll get there, is to not view the world along racial lines at all. To that end, I don't support any measure that favors or disfavors a group of people based on race, as it would seem to only perpetuate that which must be abolished.
    1. Jeunelle
Neither do I KD and I understand exactly what you are saying and you are correct.

If you haven't read our host's web log, please take the time because he brings up valid points. We need to set our sights on solidarity no matter the shade of our skin tones. Stop crying the blues, take a positive and aggressive active participation to building up a respect for one another and to embrace our differences. Oh, what a boring world it would be if we all looked the same.

The main thing is that in all of this, it all boils down to power and those who appear to be in control of said power. Let us change their thinking and come together and stop blaming others for our misfortunes. Take pride in the reflection in your mirror and make sure you have done a good job promoting love, peace, kindness, instead of tearing down and throwing away the possibilities of "Love Thy Neighbor."

I agree...... I am glad all my posts have morphed to something like this that is again what I want for everyone to attempt to understand and tolerate each other.
    2. Theresa111
You know GMoney, I only care about the sincerity of you heart. Your skin tone is only an embellishment of The Creator. Had He wanted us to be the same, he wouldn't have brought about so much diversity and beauty. Our being here, alive and fortunate to be able to communicate with one another is a true gift. In our angst to break it all down ... we tend to forget the purpose for which we have been brought to this living planet. Let's ponder that instead. I am so tired of this suspiciousness and wariness brought about by people fundamentally being told they are this or that. Why can we not simply be one people?
    3. gmoney
I am not religious and I do not claim a religion. If I had to I would say I am a combination of Buddhist /Christian/Jewish. But the creator or even the little voice inside of all of us SAYS, be good and love everyone. I practice that ever day. I do not forsake muslims because it is ok in American Society to hate them, if anything I love them more.... I don' forsake Chirstians for thinking we are fighting a war that GOD wants us to win. I have love for all...... we need a lot less ignorance and a lot more tolerance and understanding.

hey, I'm tolerant of tolerant people.

I wish to see so called Black's put money into their communities and stop wildly spending
all their hard earned money on Gucci and Chanel Sunglasses and Expensive Suv's.
These toys are temporary and do not build a community.
It also makes the so called black communities relying on the so called white communities
to come in and create opportunity and most opportunities can already be created by the so called black's who now have the money to build their communities up with.
This right now is not really the case as I still see these rappers spending all their money
on white women, buying fast cars, showing off their lifestyles on "Cribs"
and living a fast life. What a waste and a shame.
Their is a way to enjoy your wealth without faulting it in everyone's face
which will only create jealousies and tension between races.

Gmoney seems to me your discussions on this very topic have come a long way,
even when most accused you of creating tensions at BC and doing it to get attention.
I see that this discussion is also discussing the very things that you discussed
and I am glad you had courage to discuss it freely, no matter who didn't like it.
No matter where you discuss it, it is usually never the right place to discuss it,
so why not just discuss it already? So far this discussion is going well.

Here is another example.... Clint Eastwood just did another movie recently that pissed off Spike Lee because it was about the black infantry, yet the movie didn't have one black soldier seen anywhere in it. Spike was pissed and said "It was as if we blacks didn't even exist".
I can understand what Spike is saying because if you are doing a movie about Cowboys and Indians, yet you are using white people to play these parts, I got a problem with that too.
Where is the opportunity for the true Native American Indians to play the part.
What an insult that must be to any race that this happens to.
This also includes that stupid movie that Tom Cruise did called "the Last Samurai", what a joke.
Yes there was a real life "White Samurai" that was a white man
and happened to be called "the White Samurai" but he was not the last Samurai.
These underground lies and stereotypes really help to create division amongst races.
    1. kdawg68
The movie wasn't about "black infantry" - The movie was about the flag raisers - hence "flags for our fathers." I'm not aware of any black flag raisers turned white by Eastwood. I haven't seen the film, but I know Ira Hayes is depicted (he was native american).

Just to put some context - take a look at the composition of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th Marine divisions that participated in Iwo Jima. I may be off on this (someone correct me if so), but I'd estimate perhaps 900 to 1000 black marines and roughly 29,000 white marines. Just sayin' - the story of Iwo Jima is a story abour U.S. Marines of all color, so if it's a mistake by Eastwood to leave out black soldiers, it's an equally huge mistake to classify the story of Iwo Jima as the story of "black infantry."

The historical debate thing can go on in endless circle. Does 400 years of black slavery justify modern reverse racism? If so don't I have a claim to impunity if I was racist because MY ancestors were slaves for 2 thousand + years? No. At some point or another we need to take responsibility for ourselves as individuals, cut out the tribal crap and treat each other as human beings.

If we go for a theory of historical justice that is actually something like a fecking Corsican vendetta, we keep going round in circles.
    1. gmoney
400 years of African Slavery in America is a issue that has to do with black being disproportionately poor in America. This is not a excuse it is a fact. If you would like me to explain then I will.
    2. daniel23
Right. Similarly the reason why Appalachian descendants of Irish and English slaves are dirt poor today is directly connected to the last 500 years. No excuse is necessary, gmoney -- far from it. By right, when black slaves were freed they should have received the land they had worked on. Similarly, white slaves were cheated just the same.
  11. daniel23
Black people are disproportionately poor. Why? Because black people are mostly working-class and the working-class OF ALL SKIN COLORS is disproportionately poor.

Its a CLASS thing, not a RACE thing.
  12. Jeunelle
Truth is KD I am not even 100% sure what the film was about.
I haven't seen the film either but I do remember wanting to see it, now after hearing Spike's disapproval, I may just wait to see it on DVD.
  13. Jeunelle
By right, when black slaves were freed they should have received the land they had worked on.
Also reparation money which they will never receive now.

The Jews got theirs not too long ago and I knew they could because most lawyers in America are Jewish, they know how to squeeze the law in their favor.
I am glad they got some form of payment for their forced labor yet when I ask if black's should get some too most people strongly disagree with me.
I wonder if this stems from one race not wanting to see the other prosper.
    1. daniel23
"most lawyers in America are Jewish, they know how to squeeze the law in their favor." Hold it there, UFO girl.

And while we're on reparations, I want my fucking reparations for several thousand years of serfdom, the Norman Conquest and the stealing of peasant land in the enclosures...
    2. kdawg68
Normans??? Why those bloody savages! Form the sheild wall!!!!!

My British ancestory demands payback for the Roman occupation of England, but my Roman ancestory demands payback for Boudica's annhilation of Legio IX.

Alert Seutonius! Tonight we seek vengence!!!
    3. daniel23
Ah, you're not getting away with that. You Romans are paying us straight up, natural resistance doesn't enter into the equation!
    4. kdawg68
tell that to my filthy English great, great whatever granny who shacked up with a dirty Roman.

You're right...what did those bloody Romans ever do for us???

  14. Jeunelle
hahahhaha daniel23 I agree and the truth is most lawyers are jewish.
Just speaking the truth, I have nothing against jewish people.
But you know when we open this "can of worms", everyone will want to get paid,
including the Native Americans, who want their stolen land back.
