I wonder everybody: how do you feel before you publish a new post? Excited, nervous, eager, apprehensive? And after: how do you feel then?

Well, I just published a new set of aphorisms and I feel: happy and relieved.

Nice job, enjoyed all of the aphorisms.
  2. Deray28
Left you a comment NP, your aphorisms are great food for thought ;-)

Thank you, NP. I'll go have a look.

But to answer your question, I usually feel expectant before and satisfied afterward.

I love publishing new posts! I am always excited to see what the reaction will be. Some of the ones that I think are my greatest posts get the least amount of comments while my personal worst posts get more attention. I like the mystery around it and I like trying to perfect my craft.
    1. agapelife
@Richer44 - You have a penchant of making each post entertaining and it appeared you did it without any effort!

@NP - Sorry back to your question - I often wondered the questions my posts would provoke and would I have the answer. So far, I have not been challenged much!

I just read your starfish posts and they were fascinating. Now I have to write an aphorism with a starfish in it.

How I feel depends on the post. If it is particularly self-revealing or personal, I hope my mum won't read it! Mostly I feel relieved to have gotten out whatever was in my head.

Enjoyed your post - the one about people with problems is so right - unfortunately
  6. shanazAL
I would mostly feel relieved and excited at the same time.

Thank you NP ! Your aphorisms are a treat, I always check out at your blog for new ones, happy to know you have published a new post.

As always publishing a post is demanding, and always I am relieved if my posts are of any help for the fellow bloggers.

    I'm borrowing the last one:

The sea will wash away our footprints but not the fact we made them.

    I like it very much.

    may I share your link?

      Tia-I'd be honored. Feel free!

    Always right to the point:-))!Beautiful!
For the past months, I do not have much feelings before or after posting...I am wondering why:).I do not even check my stats. I guess this is why I am more often on BC forum,..maybe looking for inspiration.
  11. Soirette
I like them all! Left you a comment.
  12. conditionalcog
Thanks. As always, I enjoyed what you've shared and I'm happy to have read them.

Just now discovered your blog. Found the writing very cheering, very touching. I left a comment: was asked twice for verification, so it's either a double comment or quirk. Have bookmarked you.

As for my own posts, I'm of course excited to compose them, but I'm still so new at it that I very much miss not having an editor to give them a final check. With newspaper and magazine articles, editors always save you from sharing your errors with the reading public. But with blogs I still have to get used to flying without that safety net. Aside from that, I find the whole process of putting together writing and images a complete kick.

savvy2: You refer to newspaper and magazine articles. Are you or have you been a journalist?

Hey NP--absolutely loved the new aphorisms.
  15. HollytheHousewife
Hey NP!!! I got interupted while I was reading, but just went back...AS usual I love them!!!
  16. crpitt
Mostly I feel happy and relieved, sometimes I feel a bit raw, but mostly happy

    Really enjoyed them.

Maybe you should have an aphorism contest?
  17. HollytheHousewife
I don't think anybody could come up with them as good as NP,his the king of that castle!!!
  18. crazyTsu
BEFORE I publish, I feel anxious not to forget mentioning something. AFTER, I dont want to go and look!
  19. LolitaV
i love you NP. I love your spirit, I love the joy you and your blog bring me. Cheesy but your blog in my opinion is the best out there and in here.
    1. nothingprofound
Thanks, Lolita. It's friends like you that make it all worthwhile.
  20. agnespages
Wow, great post! The wrong turn one was my favorite :-)

    NP:

savvy2: You refer to newspaper and magazine articles. Are you or have you been a journalist?

I had a column at a small, county newspaper when I was 16. I was paid by the word - not good encouragement for developing a terse, to-the-point style. It was more or less a gossip column about the comings and goings of citizens from a ritzy part of town. I gathered my info by phone and my best source was a woman who always spilled the beans to the tune of ice cubes clinking in her glass.

Later on I wrote articles for photography and computer graphic magazines to accompany portfolios of my photographs and digital art.

THIS IS AN OLD WORN-OUT USELESS THREAD.

Thought I'd join in the self-promotion. My ethics are
    dwindling fast.

No nasty remarks, kids. This is strictly for laughs.
    1. TJlubrano
A blast from the past ^_^
    2. crpitt
Write some new stuff, you lazy sod.
    3. nothingprofound
This is all I could think of.
    4. crpitt
Don't tell fibs, there is plenty of stuff in that noggin of yours, set it free.
    5. TJlubrano
You know, I think NP can easily write a book with his aphorisms!
    6. crpitt
It is his secret evil master plan, that is now not so secret.
    7. TJlubrano
You know Claire, I think you're right! It was all part of his master plan to resurrect an ancient thread and bring it under the living again!

*plays a dramatic and shocking tune*
    8. crpitt
      Have you finished cleaning?
    9. TJlubrano
Nooo -_-'...I'm staring at the baking tins *sigh*...I wish they could disappear magically.
    10. crpitt
      Annihilate them with bleach spray
    11. TJlubrano
      Oh now that could work

*runs off leaving a trail of flour behind*
    12. crpitt
Also the boil kettle, so you have super hot water
    13. TJlubrano
Oh right! *makes mental notes while she balances the baking tins in one hand and the left over fruit in the other*
    14. crpitt
      Be careful!
    15. TJlubrano
*quickley closes the closet, preventing a baking tin from jumping out*

      Woohoo! All done!
    16. crpitt
Oh very good, now come do mine
    17. TJlubrano
You just wanted to see my cleaning skills, didn't you?

But I would love to come over and take a some cake with me

Let me fetch my private jet!
    18. crpitt
You should be able to get here in 2 hours
  23. nothingprofound
Felt it was time to put a stain on my spotless reputation.
    1. TJlubrano
      You're doing a good job.
  24. sensi
Sensi knows you aren't telling us the whole truth as to why you bumped up your old thread. As a therapist, you must like within yourself...and find the answer.
  25. HollytheHousewife
Well just shatter my hopes....I'm truly depressed now
  26. yourhypnotist
Like the new posts foot prints are very relevant for me at the mo. I really enjoy publishing when I have just had a dry patch and overcame it.
  27. AnastasiaFB
It really depends on my mood. I'm usually fairly calm, sometimes excited if I have something new to say. Tonight I was just angry, having seen a documentary on BBC about the murder of Neda Solan in Tehran during the summer protests against the fraudulent election. I've added a tribute to my blog in her memory.
  28. drjalee52
Your work is both excellent and profound. Posting takes time. It feels great when your feedback has touched ones readers. Keep up the fine work. Oh, I noticed that you skipped October. Is there any particular reason for this that you care to share?
  29. newblogmogul
It depends on what I am writing about but most of the time I am eager.
