I am listening to music with my sons on this lazy Sunday afternoon. It seems like most songs are attached to some kind of memory for me. I just heard "Could it be I'm falling in love" by the Stylistics and it reminded me of hearing the song on one of my first dates with my husband. Which songs hold memories for you?

A lot of songs from the 80's bring me back to my childhood.

Songs from the 80s remind me of my childhood too! I especially love Freestyle from the 80s.

R&B and Rock of the late 60's and early 70's spark tons of memories for me.

That kind of music reminds me of the music my parents used to play in the house when we were little.

hanson and the boy bands. (nsync, backstreet boys, etc)

they remind me of being in middle school and feeling really grown up because my mom started letting me wear makeup (albeit tan eyeshadow, clear mascara, and light pink lip gloss) and i had my first boy-girl birthday party. sooooo adult.

Hang on Sloopy. During my first year of law school I hung out with a local band of questionable quality, and Hang on Sloopy was sort of their signature song. Almost twenty years later, I still smile and feel my energy pop up a notch whenever I hear that song unexpectedly.

Not to sound all girly, but Cherish by Kool and the Gang was on the radio yesterday.

I love Kool and the Gang. My Aunt loves them and has gone to many of their concerts. As a result, I grew up listening to them too.

I'm glad this post made you feel nostalgic. I felt that way today also and I listened to some oldies but goodies all day.

Whenever I hear Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds (1967), I have to sing it loudly and with great nostalgia. I remember which party I was at the first time I heard it, exactly which dress I was wearing and who my date was. By the way, that was a GREAT evening

That is a great song! I don't have a memory attached to it but it is definitely a "feel good" song.

Wow, me, too! Man a lot of songs out there remind me of something or someone...and those popular movie theme songs like "I've Had The Time of My Life" remind me of the movie it was from (Dirty Dancing) which in turn reminds me of that time in my life...and falling in love!

liggybee, I don't want to turn the clock back, but I do want to hear those meaningful songs again. And again.

Dirty Dancing is my favorite movie of all time. I was so sad to hear that Patrick Swayze passed away.

Goody Two Shoes - Adam Ant.
Had a major crush - ok, obsession, with Adam Ant aka Stuart Goddard. "Don't drink, don't smoke, what do you do? Subtle inuendos follow - must be something inside."
I swear to God, looking back, it's no wonder I turned out the way that I did! LOL
