Celebrities email me. Oh yes...

Dead ones...

Fictitious ones...

They all email. I wrote a little piece about it this morning, actually:

cabbages-n-kings.blogspot.com/2008/05/spamming-with-stars.html

Because you know, I think "Jack Bauer" probably has better things to do-- save the world for one-- rather than send me info on male enhancement.

Are you folks getting email from dead celebs, famous writers, non-real but public characters?

What's in YOUR inbox? I'd like to know.

Most of the time they're just regular made up names.

But there was this wave of celeb names one morning and it absolutely cracked me up.

I can't tell you how happy this makes me.

I'm not happy-- I want Jack Bauer out there fighting the baddies.

I think he needs to reprioritize.

I meant it made me happy that you had a new post up for me to read, cuz I am sick in bed and bored outta my mind!!!

Ah-- well, I hope you feel better! I will send you some tea and spam. Tea and spam cures all ailments!

Nope, I get no celeb spam. I feel so sad now
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
I'm sorry, Anok. I can send you some of mine, if you like.

Aw, I like it when people share spam!

How can you get a celeb spam thrift?
  6. ThriftShopRomantic
It's just regular spammers who chose names of known people (living, dead or from fiction, apparently), where the name is in the Sender area.

I suppose it's not overly-effective or more folks here would be saying they'd received some, too.

I've gotten some asking if I'm going to sell my home and my address is listed with apartment number. Idiots they can keep the projects.

I'd be a little concerned if the spammers have your address. Maybe keep an eye on that, Shirley.

If Jack Bauer is sending you e-mail there must be a reason. Maybe he has hidden secret code within an image inside the e-mail that provides evidence linking Hillary Clinton to terrorist activities in L.A.

did you ever think about that?
    1. ThriftShopRomantic
Oh, no, Daniel!-- the fate of the entire world is now in jeopardy simply because I was too stupid to properly evaluate that email from Jack.

      Great. Talk about guilt!

I'll have to go see if I can do some forensic investigation on my computer to retrieve it.

      I'll keep you posted.

The other day I got two e-mails from porn stars...Nina Hartley and Ron Jeremy...so I forwarded to each other.

I just thought of something...wouldn't be cool to have all your spam e-mail forwarded to each other on a constant basis? gotta go find me a programmer...

Heh- an interesting tactic. I wonder if the spammers ever get surprised.
