No, I am not being sarcastic. It was hilarious and genuinely scary, but you have to be a Sam Raimi "Evil Dead" fan.

It's actually getting really good reviews too. Check Rotten Tomatoes which collects reviews. 95% positive.

He did look like Johnny5. I will give you that. But the fact that the Pixar animators were able to convey so much without dialogue was a great achievement. I don't see what's so amazing about Savion Glover tap dancing as an aquatic bird.

It was a classic Star Trek plot device and totally fit within the Star Trek mythology.

On a separate note, I saw "Drag Me to Hell" today. AWESOME. Really scary and hilarious.

I have a soft spot for summer blockbusters and have seen pretty much all the new summer action movies.

I saw Star Trek,Wolverine and Terminator and Star Trek was hands down the best.

It was awesome. I loved all the characters. Thought the alternate reality was ingenious in that it opened up a whole new world of creative possibilities and it is a classic Star Trek device that has been used many times in the TV series.

Wall-E was a poor attempt at silent comedy. It failed to do anything that makes silent comedy work, it was just schmaltzy! The short film before Wall-E came on was the most exciting part of the cinema trip!

I imagine Star Trek will end up being better than those pieces of nonsense, but Star Trek really should have been better. Is there no one left in Hollywood who can write a decent screenplay? I'm judging ST against the summer trailers for 'Transformers" and "G.I. Joe." Compared to these adolescent adrenaline fantasies, it looks like "Star Trek" set the bar pretty high.
