I try not to go to Starbucks because they are a bit of a rip-off. I use local shops, privately owned if I can, though if I am stuck I'd do Starbucks. I like Latte plain and simple.

I love Starbucks coffee. My drink order is doppio espresso. It tastes great, it gets the heart pumping and it would be hypocritical of me to order anything more complex because a pet peeve of mine is people who spend half an hour spitting out their single drink order for a grande extra hot, extra foam caramel, caramel macchiato with whipped cream while I'm standing impatiently behind them waiting to order my espresso. I've blogged about that. I hate it when people do that.

Black mild coffee of the day. Not many people know this but the "strong" blends are roasted longer and therefore have less caffeine. People walk in and say: "Give me a tall strong" and they are actually ordering a coffee that is less caffeinated.
Anyway, that's my standard drink at Starbucks and I love it! -
I boycott Starbucks because they are an absolutely awful company. Whether you care about human rights, animal rights, the environment, or small businesses...there is nothing good about this company. They pretend to be a fairtrade company when a very very small percentage of their coffee is fairtrade and you'd have to ask for it anyway, they force independent businesses to close down by saturating the area with their shops, they waste a shocking amount of resources for no apparent reason, they mistreat cows by forcing them to produce more milk than they can healthily produce and pump them full of hormones to encourage them to keep producing. Anyone who cares about these issues ought to boycott Starbucks. There are plenty of other places to get something to drink. There is no excuse.

Water. That's the only thing worth what you pay for it, there. I do, however, make my own hazelnut mochas at home, generally with three or four shots of espresso in a big, fat cup that I can wash and re-use (and re-fill at whatever strength I desire, even with plain black cooffe to rinse the delicious residue from the bottom).
