Ever attempted to start a band?

How many people have tried to start a band, whatever style of music, and failed? Not the most uplifting topic, but I am curious who has had the dream and also why it fell apart.

I have. But when we realized we had no musical talent it kind of dampered it from taking off

I originally tried to start a band in college. Went well with some jamming but we had extremely limited funds. I actually remember one time when a guitar string broke and we had to wait a few weeks to restring the guitar... kinda sad.

I have been in bands but none of the failed. Jazz, rock, country they are all fun but I just didnt have the time to devote to it.I was the one that left and they all went on to do prettty good locally
