Thanks guys. Appreciate the review.
Yup! That's me and my long lost twin. haha.
I recently changed my whole design from 2 column to 3 column because I think i wasted a lot of space.
Check out the new design:

good thinking of opening up part II to it ... since it's free and i've done some changes to my blog, heck, i can use some reviews here ... here's the link:
stocktube.blogspot.com-
I visited your website at stocktube.blogspot.com/. You have a good concept but there are so many things going on in your mainpage that make reading difficult. Too much clutter.
-
I wanted to reply on blogcabins.blogspot.com, but it turned here, my mistake , sry .. so anyway you have been real dedicated, and only one adsense ad - in my opinion you could add some more, it wont ruin it
-
Stock Tube - I don't think I am least bit qualified to rate the content of your blog, but design-wise I really liked it. I found the colours pleasing.
I've been reading this string for a while but I've been a little scared to post my blog.... but here goes...
janetishungry.blogspot.com -
Great idea. I'd like to play, but bear in mind, the purpose of this blog is to sell stuff. However, if I can put a better slant on it, I'll certainly consider it.

The "Resources & More" section remains under development with new content being added daily to make the site more "sticky." -

thanx for your frank opinion blogcabins ... hmmm, i didn't know that my blog is trying to sell anything to my readers? ... i guess the huge banner which says "Advertise your website here" really scare people off huh? i'm in the middle of trying to monetize the blog by giving the option for advertisers to purchase ads from my blog directly ...
also, i guess i should take away the "reviewme" to save some real-estate of my blog ... anything else that might look offending to you? appreciate your kind feedback ... cheers -
I do not know if I've joined the previous one.
Anyway, here's my blog >>

Once I got past the advertising at the top of the blog, which tends to put me off reading anything, I enjoyed your content, and have even left you a comment. You may want to move the adverts off the top of the page. They smack a little too much of "I'm running this blog to make money". Other than that, good work!

I've been working really hard on my blog lately. Swing by and let me know what you think. Drop me a comment and get one in return.
sismordia.blogspot.com-
I like that template - very clean. I also like your blurb in the top right corner - shows a bit of a sense of humor, which I imagine helps considering the subject matter (which I would imagine is typically pretty serious).
The only thing I might suggest is showing more than your last two posts - even four or five shouldn't make your page too long (if that's your concern).
-

Here ya go, that other one was super long.

Tech News too Cool!
www.worldredline.com
The World moves fast, we slow down the spin to make sense of it all.-
Hi. I like the tech site. neither one pops-out. They are basic sites. If your going to tunnel your content then make a line or different color on the side bar. (Noheat left side bar blends too much with the content.) Also for design wise its better and stands out if your headers are different colors then the content text. Your other site actually uses the points I have listed for noheat. I like noheat and have stumbled it. Thanks.

Aloha all.. Well I have changed my layout etc.. Still working on it here and there.. Also posted a Transformers review, yes before it came out
Just thought I would see what people are thinking about Tomorrow's Entertainment and what I should be doing, adding etc o make it a better blog..

I like this blog! It has a clean, appealing layout and good reviews!
Ok, I suppose I've been looking at other blogs and comments long enough to take the plunge.
Here I am:
sibbia.wordpress.com
I'm sorta limited with my choice of design templates. Any comments?
-
Here's mine: www.bethanyharvey.com/blog
I'd like to know, particularly, if you find my theme too cluttered. -
-
If you're reviewing content, check here: socialstrategist.com
If you're reviewing presentation, check out the re-design I'm implementing in the next few days: socialstrategist.com/Redesign1.html
And thanks!!-
RE: Presentation
The design looks simple. The header image looks good.
There are some alignment issues though. Your content looks crowded because of the alignment. Give your main content more padding. Try to shorten the width your your paragraphs. Viewers don't like reading long lines anyway. Try a width of about 680 pixels. You can achieve this through left and right padding.
Try to align your post metadata and your social bookmarking icons with your header title and your paragraphs. Make your header title the basis for your left alignment. Indent the other elements as needed.
Provide right padding for your sidebar contents as well. Make the left padding on the sidebar as a basis.
-

-
RE: Wampago
I spent about an hour last night viewing the Nickelback videos. I felt at ease with the site. Although it's crowded, anyone could seem to manage their way through. The logo needs to be improved for a stronger branding.
RE: Blog Competition
It's clean and easy to navigate. The color is nice too.
Having a logo or a design for your header will make your brand stronger.

Mine's a fairly standard version of the Cutline theme, but I would be interested in comments about the style, content or functionality:
www.balticvisitor.com-
Hi! I saw your blog at www.balticvisitor.com/. You have an interesting travel website as very few people (or maybe it's just me) are familiar with the Baltic region.
But it would be a lot lot better if you would post photos of the places you've visited rather than go text heavy. Clean layout though. -
elyen - Thanks. I agree about putting pictures on. I've been concentrating on building up some good text for now, but I'll start thinking more about images. Part of the problem is that I only have good pics for Latvia, so I'll need to find some for the other countries.
gabotron - What browser are you using? Everything looks aligned fine to me (Firefox 2 on Mac).

Reviews (from previous thread, part 1)
pedestrianobserver - pedestrianobserver.blogspot.com/
Nice blog! There seems to be nothing wrong with the layout.
Be careful with your color palette though. The yellow one stands out a lot tool. Try a darker shade. You can pick some colors from your header image.
frenchkys - frenchkys.blogspot.com
Similar theme with pedestrianobserver. Nice header! I couldn't see anything wrong with the layout nor the color palette. Great!
bsangel - hawtymcbloggy.wordpress.com/
Wow! It's great! Clean and pleasing to the eyes. The typography on your header image looks good too. The layout is relaxing thus, enticing me to read the posts. Great use of proximity (whitespace).
ichaduma - id.thelunchbox-online.com/v2
Your blog's layout is good. You might want to choose black for your blog title. Make it larger too.
There are proximity issues on the list style images. Provide padding between the arrow icons and the texts beside them.
Align your images as well. Try to align them left since the dominant alignment is left. Try centered as well. The explicit borders will define their alignment.
MsGo - dcmoviegirl.blogspot.com
You need to populate the header a bit more. A longer logo could help.
In the About section, provide padding between the floated image and the texts.
The texts on the main content is too small. Increasing the font size by 3 will make your paragraphs more readable.
nuaeman - absolutelyfree2u.blogspot.com
The header needs to have an identity. Try adding an image.
I also didn't like the Get It Now ad "above the fold". Put the first post in there instead. Align your Google Search and the image below it to the right, in line with the Advertlets ad.
Since you're using green and red in your color palette, include them in your header color as well.
Aside from these, your blog's layout looks clean and professional. -
-
Witchywife, I like your blog design and food photos - YUMMY
My website is basically more than a month old. I would appreciate it if you guys can give me your honest opinion on design, content, etc. to help me improve the site.
portraithouse.net
Thanks everyone!-
I like your blog. It is simple but its very nice. The one thing that I do notice is the posts per page. You seem to have 4 posts per a page. This is too few. Most people do not go to the next page. For long posts have them continue on there post page. Ten posts is usually the default. Keep up the good work.
-
WilfordSy: Glad to know you're Pinoy
I'm not really techsavvy so I guess whatever default pluggin WP has for me will suffice for the moment, until I find time to work on the site (if you have suggestion on which pluggin to use, let me know). Yep, that Google search box really has to be adjusted
Thanks for pointing out.
Terrymundo: Hello Terry. Thanks for the info on page posts. I think you have a good point there
-
thanks, gabotron! i'll go fix my google search box later
for mcbilly.com, here are my suggestions as a reader:
1. header - i find your photos (that's you, right?) on the header/title a bit distracting. your website is about making money, so find a more suitable photo or design for that. i think your photos should be placed somewhere else (in about page).
2. adsense boxes on top of your content - they clutter your mainpage. maybe use a more discreet adsense layout like textlinks if your insist on having them there. or simply put them on your sidebar. -
Gabotron, thank you for the feedback. Much appreciated. I am going for a clean look so the confirmation is nice. Thanks!

The flcker widget seems to load forever. The other elements in your blog didn't load right away because of that widget.
I could see typography and proximity issues on your blog. For your blog title and tagline, try capitalizing the first character of each word. The same goes true for your header titles. Capitalization might help the viewers identify the difference between the other elements of your blog.
Have a consistent alignment. "Welcome to my blog! Looking for the posting and video of the Northern Ireland v Spain game?..." doesn't seem to align with your other contents.
One post in your main content seems different from the other posts. It has a Comic Sans typeface with a bold font weight.
The footer seems unorganized. Align them to the left instead.
Aside from these, your blog is soothing to the eyes. The color palette is very good!
-
-
This is a great idea. Its getting late so I will make rounds on reviews tomorrow (its the South American Culture I picked up). Here are my two little devils:
www.technicallyforeign.com - My version of a technology site
terrenceculkin.com - My personal site. -
I will add one comment tonight on Blog Cabins site.... Its dam good. The design is clean, the content kept me laughing. As a movie buff I was wondering why Rottentomatoes link wasn't posted in the movie area... but there is one thing I hate - I clicked on the Knocked Up review and my browser opened a new tab (or window). Not that I don't like you, but now I have your twins open. Of course this may discourage people from clicking more of that side bar since it will open more and more and more tabs (or windows). I really enjoy your site.
-
Wow - thank you so much for your kind words - I've worked hard and really appreciate hearing that. As for a couple of your points:
I think the "Knocked Up"/new tab/window thing was something I had in place before my header image had a "home" link in it. Thank you for pointing that out - I will fix them.
I don't think Rottentomatoes needs any linkage help from me. Outside of some sites that I consider more to be services (imdb, apple movie trailers), I've tried to avoid to linking to giant review sites and such. -
I like the design of both of your sites - simple, effective, and with great header pics. I also like that they share a common design - for readers of both, this helps to create a "brand" for you.
Only one major thing pops out at me. Unless you find that its used frequently, I would either dump the Google search box on the top of your Tech site, or at least move it down to a less-seen location.
-
-
-
The color palette is nice. The different shades of green mixed well.
The background image is too noisy though. I got distracted by it thus, the focus was divided between your content and your background image. The color doesn't seem to merge well with green. I would suggest a lighter background that has at least a shade of green in it.
Try to be consistent with your color too. That shade of yellow and green seems to go well. I don't know about the reds, oranges, and violets. Maybe you can do away with the colors and alter their font weights instead. Making them bold or italic should be enough to emphasize them.
The animated gif at the footer would look good without the white background and with a different color.
-
Hello. Awesome blog you've got there, I really liked both the content and the writing style
I could use some feedback on mine:
beardseye.blogspot.com/ -

send me a message letting me know you've done it and tell me the link to your site so I can add you to mine -
I followed Gabotron's advice on the yellow, change most of the yellow to white and gray, please check it out if you can.
pedestrianobserver.blogspot.com/ -
Hello, I'm new and my blog has no reviews or ratings yet. Please size it up! Thanks for taking the time...Cat Also - too much animation? I'm not sure.
ultrajam.blogspot.com-
Your color palette and your logo are great!
Since you have a particular shade of blue in your sidebar and within your posts, you might as well have that in your header image. That wave-like blue in your header image doesn't mix well with the black background. The a different shade of blue, preferably the one that you used in your hyperlinks.
You seem to have too many widgets. Try to minimize them. They significantly contribute to the load time of your page. I think you don't need the widgets in your footer as well as the clock widget.
Your animation seems okay. Just enough.
-
wow, you have a hot discussion thread, 2 even! Love you to take a look at www.KidReviewer.com and give a review.
Course, I wouldn't blame you if you are still, ahem, reviewing Kahlees daisy dukes post.
KidReviewer-
Your layout is clean. And yeah, mpac1 is right. Navigation is great.
Try to organize your header. Aligning them would be a good start. Maybe you can make that image on the right as your logo. You can then merge it with your KidReviewer image. The tagline (Movies, books, & games,
...reviewed by a kid) can be place below the merged image or on the right, aligned with the sidebar (horizontally) and the merged image (vertically).
The list items below Archives, Kid Blogs & More, and Links might look better if given a subtle effect. Try to make the font weight normal instead of bold. Take a look at your "Review Bloggers" section as a reference.
Overall, your blog looks good! I'm sure the reviews are too.
-
I like mine reviewed. Here's my blog: faverre.tripod.com/1/
-
I was finally able to view your blog. It looks clean, by the way.
However, I see some inconsistencies:
- You have no header. I didn't seem to know what blog I'm visiting. It seems that it has no identity. Perhaps you can replace that Google ad with a header image or a "brand" of some sort. You need to give your blog identity.
- Your post metadata (Posted by faverre at 10:24 PM EDT...) might look better if you aligned it with your paragraphs and header titles.
- Your sidebar contents lack proximity. Provide more vertical padding between the headers so that the viewers can distinguish them more.
-
-
-
Nice layout!
The right sidebar looks empty though. You can either put some more contents or remove that dashed-border in the middle.
That shade of orange in your header image and header titles seems too dark for a blue background thus, not popping out. Try a lighter shade. The color of the Feedburner and the digg icons can be used as reference.
-
-
Hi.
Loads of good ideas here - especially the add more pictures to you blog one - I'll try that this weekend.
Thanks Guys (and Gals)
Jonathan
Pop by and visit me at purple13.blogspot.com too won't you? -

I see a couple of problems on your blog- color palette and header.
The header is supposed to show your identity, so make the most out of it. The header image doesn't align properly with the main content. Please align it to the left. Maybe you can also align the tagline, Uncover the Secrents that Make You a Millionaire with your blog title.
Your color palette seems to be too varied. Since you have a "money-making" blog, consistency is of utmost importance. Derive your colors from your header. Maybe you can change those shades of violets in your sidebar. Try darker colors for a stronger effect. Maybe black or a dark shade of blue will do. The greens, browns and yellows don't seem to belong there too.
With a white background and a "business-like" theme, don't go for subtle colors. The use of darker colors for your texts and headers as well as being consistent should give your blog strength and stability.
-
-
-
It looks like you have only your last two posts showing, which leaves a TON on white space down the page where you have widgets and such off to the right.
There appears to be some sort of error with your text about the banner ad - it cuts into your blog description - that's bad.
Looks like you've picked a niche and stuck with it, and your readers are like-minded. That's a big obstacle overcome already.
-
-
-
At first I didn't like how monochromatic it was, but I found it to be easy on the eyes. However, the "My Blogger Panel" widget with the blue letters highlighted in white KILLS some of the simplicity and design you have going. It's like an ugly billboard - in your face and annoying. Those colors must be changed and soon.
Love the text in the header about "you never know what you'll read and I never know what I'll write." Very funny.
-
-
-
Your blog looks professional. Here are some suggestions:
- To give the contents "above the fold" a more professional look, align the texts to the left (Welcome! Expecting Executive Blog, Discussing, debating and telling...). You can also extend the dimensions of the photo so that it doesn't look embedded without proper positioning.
- As for the texts "below the fold". (main posts and links), they seem too washed out on a white background. Maybe you can change the color to a darker one.
-
-
Here is mine: portablevideogamer.com
Can you help me with my adsense placement? I am tihnking about adding a 200x200 block in the right sidebar.-
I'm sorry I won't be able to assist you with your adsense positioning issue.
Here's my review:
Contrast is good. The main post is given enough attention.
I have doubts about your color palette though. The shade of blue in your header image doesn't seem to mix well with yellow. The mouseover background effect doesn't look good on a dark background as well.
The "Latest News" module isn't legible. Try a lighter shade of gray or try white.
The footer seems misaligned as well, at least in Firefox 2.
Overall, I suggest that you try playing with your color palette again. Here's a site that will help you come up with a good color palette:
wellstyled.com/tools/colorscheme2/index-en.html
-
-
-
The Advertlets ad at the very top seems to make your blog look crowded. You might want to move your blog down a little bit just to give the ad and the entire blog space.
Your blog title doesn't fit the confines of the allotted background. You can make the font-size smaller.
Your badges/widgets/icons seem disorganized too. Maybe you can arrange them in a way that will make them left-aligned.
Overall, your blog looks clean and consistent.
-
-
Reviews (2nd batch, from previous thread):
Patricia - learningonourown.blogspot.com/
Your blog looks great! Very consistent layout. Of course, a personalized logo or blog title will make your blog even more attractive.
lorla - blog.lorla.com
Clean! I like the way you placed your ads. They don't seem to mess with the design. The dark pink header title seems to provide accent as well. All elements are consistent. Great work! A personalized header might give your blog more accent.
RyanEdmunds - needlessproductions.com
Wow! The design is great! Some points of improvement:
The header image is attractive, but the shoe on the right seems to be out of place. Just to provide focus, maybe you can remove or relocate it.
The main navigation menu isn't noticeable as well. Give the elements more space (padding) and make the texts bolder.
The main post lacked padding thus, making it look crowded. Give it more left and right padding. Provide padding for your floated images as well. Try to be consistent with your header title. Pay attention to capitalization.
As for your sidebar, it really looks good. But legibility is sacrificed. Try to weigh design and readability. Decide which is more important for your readers and make the (color) adjustments from there.
Dalila - trendypalermoviejo.blogspot.com
Nice design. I don't see anything wrong with its layout. The photos in your posts made your blog attractive. Keep them up.
marjie - polypocket.blogspot.com
Nice design. I don't see anything wrong with the layout.
Try to spice up your header a bit. Capitalize the first character of each word, or insert a header image... your call. -
@stillconfused84 - philosophyandletters.blogspot.com
The header image still lacked contrast. Try looking for equivalent images at www.sxc.hu/index.phtml. Registration is free.
Overall, your blog looks consistent and clean. -
-
The template is super-clean but you've got too much Adsense! Either take the search bar out of the header or off of the top of the sidebar. Also, consider moving at least your "About AppUS" above the long string of ads. You might want to consider reducing the number of posts on your main page, although since you have nothing in your footer it doesn't really matter. It's just an awfully long way to scroll down to find that out!
Overall, it is very simple and easy to follow. I'd suggest finding something a little flashier for the header. The blue box is a little TOO clean.
-
-
-
-
Your link and post title color completely overwhelms your content. You might want to darken your text color so that it's more noticable. Also, your sidebars are very busy compared to your posts. There are a million things to look at and click on that aren't content or ads. Maybe try alternating between text links and pictures in the sidebars so that there aren't big blocks of pictures to distract readers. Consider moving your dream car down a ways and giving yourself top billing!

I've played around with new designs for my two blogs, and any views on their strengths and weaknesses would be much appreciated!

RE: 1st blog
Good use of imagery! Some minor proximity and alignment issues though.
Your header images seem to far from the paragraphs (Technical Note, Help Harry, etc.). Move the image headers a little bit on the left too.
Overall, the design is clean, consistent, and attractive.
RE: 2nd blog
Minor proximity issues. Provide enough vertical padding between the image headers so that the elements on the sidebars will be more identifiable.

First off, I see the same issue as ubuntuguy, where the links on top match the "Pages" section that runs along the right side - though, you do have more than just those main areas in the "Pages" section, so it makes a little more sense.
Some pictures in your posts would help to loosen up some of the space; right now, with sections running along the left and right, and with no pics, there is a lot of text all over the place. A little "white space" never hurts, either.
Your "Subscribe to me" dialog box is wider than your template. No matter how wide or narrow someone's window is, that box always runs outside your template by what looks to be about 40 pixels.
Aside from all that - very nice, professional looking site!
-
-
Whoops - I meant to reply to elizbetho but somehow it ended up alone!
Your blog is really picture-heavy and that's great for kids. It certainly looks like they're having a lot of fun! You might want to move your footer elements into the sidebar, since the posts end up so long. Also, watch your text colors. There are a few spots where you captions or other text are hard to read because there isn't enough contrast with the white background. Yellow and bright green are the main offenders. -
I finally worked up a header and I'd love some feedback. I haven't decided if I like this one well enough to keep but it was quirky enough to catch my eye. legbamel.blogspot.com Thanks, all! This has been an educational pair of threads.
-
Yup, the static background definitely did the trick! But the squares are kinda obvious. A seamless pattern will look much better. Anyway, the static background is already attractive.
The search module and the header image seem to be out of the main content's confines. Maybe you can reduce their widths. I viewed your blog in Firefox 2 and IE7, by the way.
Since you already have the header as an image, give the texts a different typeface. Push the tagline up so that it will look one with the title. Align it to the left as well instead of to the center.
Provide a bit more vertical padding for your main posts. They still look a bit crowded (Posted by..., Labels... vs. Date and Title). The same goes true for your My Recent Articles.
I'm seeing consistency and balance now. Good job!

Blog Cabins
blogcabins.blogspot.com
Your header image is great! It surely does say a lot of things about your blog's identity. I knew right away that it's something about films/movies because of the imagery. Pair it with a title and a tagline and your identity is complete.
The scrolling marquee, although it looks old school, seem to fit a film review blog. I'm not sure about the alignment though. Give it balance by moving it a little to the left.
The headers on the sidebar (i.e. The Fletch Film Rating System, etc.) look crowded because they lacked left-padding. Move them a bit to the right.
Overall, your blog looks consistent and well-organized. You made good use of the bold and italic font styles within your posts. -
Just started bloggin 'bout a month or so.. do tell me what do you think...

Sorry. This ones for cherdons - www.rambogsd.blogspot.com/
Wow! Your design looks like the one in the CSS Zen Garden. It's beautiful!
I see a couple of inconsistencies- your sidebar and header.
Your header doesn't seem to have any reference alignment thus, creating imbalance. Maybe you can align your header with your main content (Links, Ads by Google, etc.). Or better yet, align it to the right, where there isn't a lot of noise.
Your sidebar (Gifts for your favorite pet, Book reviews) doesn't seem to be consistent. It would be better if you make the typeface uniform. Try to replace Comic Sans with the Georgia or a similar serif font. Try to make the headings bold as well (Links, Ads by Google, Book Reviews, etc.) -
for alwizbme - tropicalbloom.blogspot.com
Your design is similar to Brown Thoughts. www.brownbaron.com/blog/
Try to organized the contents of your blog. Before you do, ask yourself what you want to present to your visitors first. Will it be the flcker widget or the Latest Posts?
Provide padding for your About Me section as well. Create space between the image and the texts.
Your theme actually makes plenty of room for organization. As long as you can organize, your blog will surely look cleaner and more consistent thus, more professional. -
Ahaa.. thank for the tips.. I'm still new with blogspot or bloggin for that matter so just trying here and there, never thought looks exactly like Brown Thoughts huh, just that a different piece of software, blogspot instead of Wordpress, the theme is the same though, made by the same person.
