So I've hit another dry patch when it comes to blogging. I don't know whether it's because I'm working more now, or whether there's just nothing interesting happening.

I need some inspiration! You guys know what I write about on the Irate Dog (if you don't, why the hell not?? Get your ass over to the blog! )

So what should I talk about?

Truth. Now that instantly gets into dodgy complicated territory...
What is truth? Is truth subjective? Or is it an ultimate fact? Yadda yadda yadda. I might try to have a hash at that...

Oh my God! She went BALD?! What horrible men!

Checking the headlines is always a good idea. But sometimes the news headlines are so absurd, your blog readers may not believe them.

eg "Lost at sea: frantic bid to find asylum seekers". Hmmmm what did they think would happen if the ship sank? That people would swim all the way to Australia???

How about having a few beers, watching the game tonight, then looking out at your idiot neighbors. That should do the trick.

Ya, I often find inspiration from the absolutely incredible idiocy I witness in my neighborhood. At times I can't believe my eyes !

Talk about the deterioration of art in the capitalist dominated music industry.

I am not sure what topics would fascinate you, iratedog. But let me tell you about how a stream of ideas occurred to me this morning, a bank holiday in Melbourne.

We went to a breakfast in a 19th century beach pavilion, so I grabbed a tram ticket out of my handbag and made a note to examine sex-segregated swimming customs in the 1870s.

People were drinking champagne, so I added to the tram ticket "note to self; when in the 19th century did Melbourne Cup Day become one of the world's greatest race meetings?"

Women were already in cocktail dresses and fascinators, so I added a note reminding me to examine the history of women's cocktail hats.

One of our co-breakfasters had just come back from a Family Roots Tour of Lithuania, so on a new piece of paper I wrote "think about Vilna before WW1". My used tram ticket had already been filled.

Finally another of our co-breakfasters was dicussing a lecture they had attended on the history and future of The American Joint Distribution Committee. I made my last jotting as we left the restaurant, not too bad for two hours of champagne breakfast.

Who knows if odd jottings ever make it onto peoples' blogs.
Who knows if I will ever tidy up the inside of my handbag.

I'm surprised you could remember all those ideas after all that champagne so early in the morning lol

Wavecrest you must jot down a note THE VERY SECOND any good bloggy thought comes to mind. Once the champagne wears off, you won't remember what brilliant thoughts had flitted briefly through your mind.

This brings another thought to mind. If people know that every interesting thing that they say ends up, somehow somewhere, in a blog, will they continue to talk? I can imagine friends saying "Now I want to talk about your mum/ job/ labrador/ next trip overseas/ jewellery, but it is off the record!"

How about 604 blog posts for when you get stuck?

I forgot to check your blog out first. Maybe those won't help you or maybe they would but I usually keep up with current events and buzz by checking out Google Hot Trends.

    Here's the link: www.google.com/trends/hottrends

It is updated hourly everyday so you'll always find what people are talking about right now and might even get some breaking news before others do.

Liberal philosophy. Dissect your beliefs to the smallest degree, and focus on each individual aspect of the world, yourself, and your morality that leads to each and every one of your conclusions. I would be very interested to read that.

How about why the UK is being dragooned into an EU superstate without the people having a say

How about talking about "your feelings". People will be fascinated, and flock to your blog in droves. If you don't have any, you can make some up. It's fun.

Brainstorm and don't censor yourself. Ideas generate ideas. Keep an idea book (I guess that's the bound version of Hels tram tickets!) - take it everywhere.
