Hi
It's been 2 weeks now that I have 0 visits from Google. Try it ! Have a look at any article and search any of my main keywords! If you have a solution let me know. It tried pretty much everything. The only few search engine hits I get are yahoo and live.

Luckily I have 30 subscribers and Entrecard & Stumbleupon help me with traffic. But still...

If you like an article feel free to stumble it. If you like the blog, subscribe. I have to compensate for this Google weirdo. lol And let me know, I'll check out your blog. I like to discover new blogs, except make money blogs.

Thanks !!

generally, google crawls to ur blog if u maintain two posts per day.
    1. cashmere
Is that true? I don't think so..
Cos I never do 2 posts in a day.
I think you must submit your URL to google or sth right?
I forgot how I did mine actually..
    2. mattiasx
I've had visitors from Google without having 2 posts per day.
    3. LaMirabelle
You don't need 2 posts a day but good posts with relevant content and luck it seems.
    4. mattiasx
SEO, and marketability of your own blog tends to help. There are no overnight hits. You just need to keep at it, keep active, and perhaps start taking interest with other blogs that are out there. It's not a competition.
    5. LaMirabelle
No it was a problem with google. They could fix it. I have 30 visits from google now per day.
I would like to have readers, what has this got to do with competition?
And why do you think I'm not interested in other blogs ? :-o

Have you submitted a site map to Google's webmaster tools? This really seemed to help me in the past.
    1. abhinavatwork
I agree with the above post. From the day i submitted my site to webmaster tools there was dramatic increase in website traffic.
  3. Darkblaze37
I never did that and I get visited by Google. A good thing to do is to create a Google Alert with the name of your blog. You will know when Google visit you and When other bloggers talk about you.

    A couple things.

Your site is indexed by Google - you can check this by typing 'site:www.leblogdelamirabelle.net' into google. This tells you that you haven't done anything to get on a blacklist of any sort.

Not only is it indexed, but you have a pagerank of 3 which is pretty kick ass.

    --

You say to search for your keywords yet there are no keywords or descriptions defined in your meta tags. This can help, although some SEOs argue google doesn't listen anymore to keywords. Still, it can't hurt.

Add this code to your header - surround it with these ''

    meta name=description content="Description goes here"
    meta name=keywords content="keywords, and, stuff,"

EDIT: It's not showing up right, leave me a shout with your email and I'll send you the proper HTML

    ---

Using Entrecard - I just wrote a post about why google doesn't like entrecard or at least why it violates their pagerank system. Maybe removing the widget would help, I'm not 100% on this one.

    ---

Still, it shouldn't be 0 hits - there is something weird going on
    1. LaMirabelle
Thank you!! My mail is natjaschon@gmail.com
Yes something is very weird :/
You think entrecard could cause this?
I submitted a sitemap and before my articles showed up in keyword search.
It stopped abruptly. Almost from one day to the next.

Please edit out your email address before spam bots get it. You can put it into codesucker's shoutbox but posting it here in that form means that email address spam bots that are programmed to crawl forums and harvest email addresses will get it.

actually my experience was that removing the EC widget Hurt. I had been getting about 300--500 uniques per day and was up to PR4 and alexa under 100K. But when I stopped doing Entrecard my uniques fell to about 125--150/day. As of this last week's new rankings I am back down to PR3 and my alexa is over 200K.

I didn't see this in the other comments - legitimate links to your website help Google find it. At least, that was the way it was supposed to work a few years ago.

The key here is to get a link that a human being might use: something from a page that at least has a few words that relate to your site's general topic.

I've read, and believe, that link farms are, at best, unhelpful.

Put in a new set of metatags, keywords. All of your posts should have metatags built into them. Blogger and Wordpress for example include a way to add keywords to every post. All of my posts are tagged with keywords. I get some traffic from Blogger. Also occassionally adding links to your posts may work.

Google listens to keywords. Only the top 5% of sites have high enough pagerank for pagerank to matter. The other sites have to be found by "topicalization"-- a fancy word for subjects (keywords). Google does not do clustering with most of its search services.

Google may be picking up your site, but not the individual posts that well.

if u want to submit ur URL to google, then visit www.google.com/addurl
    1. LaMirabelle
Thanks but I can't submit my url every month to Google. If you searched my blog you must have seen that it is indexed by google. It just won't show up in keyword search.
And this search engine is number one???

      I can't add metatags. I'm with overblog.
Why did Google pick up my keywords in the past?

I have lots of relevant backlinks so that's not the problem.

It may be that it is listed, but other articles are listed way ahead of yours. Try your key word phrase along with the name of your blog.
    1. LaMirabelle
      Ok but why?
  9. witewood
Hi, your site is listed in google, if you type in your url in the search box. However, you may have been penalised by google, and oushed down the search ranking, it happens a lot. How long have you had the Amazon affiliate links in the sidebar? Sometimes things such as that go towards a penalty from google.

If you have a google webmaster tools account it may offer you more information.
    1. LaMirabelle
Webmasters tool doesn't give a clue.

Amazon was there from the beginning.

Just try to get Googles attention. You might wanna try doing some videos to promote your site like this guy i nthis video did (www.squidoo.com/seo-artist)

By the way, are you sure you havent deleted the Robot.txt in your ftp ? You might just be telling the google bots not to check your site.
    1. LaMirabelle
I didn't touch the code in any way.
I asked the admin to check and he says he can't explain why google ignores me.
  11. rohittripathi737
by 2 posts p/d i meant posting regularly!
    1. LaMirabelle
If you have a job you can't post twice a day a real article.
I see a lot of junk articles (4-5 lines saying "oh it's snowing today. I like snow.") :/
Regular posting means several times a week.
  12. LaMirabelle
For those who understand German: Spiegel.de is explaining why Google is not referencing websites that well: www.spiegel.de/netzwelt/web/0,1518,614339,00.html

The algorithm is not working well and websites buying backlists still have a good chance to make it to the top.
My problems started when Google changed it's algorithm in March.
  13. wagerwitch
OK - check it out Mirabelle - I've had a LOT of help from people like TT and WEBLOGIAN (excellent help there Webby is way too cool).

And of this week my website had tremendously jumped up in Google Ranking and in the top search positions... (THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP AND INSPIRATION ALL OF YOU) This jump is very significant because my blog is geared towards gambling and gambling affiliate marketing - which means - if my blog is not seen - I can't possibly be doing good - and in this business - it is INCREDIBLY hard to get to the top because the top sites are using blackhat techs.

Anyway - you need to make sure that your sitemap is appropriately crawled:

    List it like this:

    feeds/posts/default?orderby=updated

Make sure that you go in and resubmit it EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Now- make sure that you haven't got a robots.txt problem- read your source code.

And do put out a FEEDBURNER --- or an RSS - and submit it.

    ALSO --- USE -- PINGOAT

    It's very important.

Blogcatalog is a tremendous boost - make sure your feed is listed here.

Techonorati is very good as well.

Twitter is important as well too!

    Hope those items help.

    Good Luck!

    WagerWitch - Casino Promotions
    And blogcatalog LOVER!
    1. LaMirabelle
I do most of this. It doesn't help. The problem seems to be with Google.
  14. wagerwitch
Get listed in bloggeries too --- plus other blog sites.

Go to my website - ignore all the posts and gambling (unless you like gambling, LOL!) - scroll down to the bottom and look at those FANTASTIC resources at the bottom - those are fantastic sites to use --- Make sure you participate tho - OK?

It's important to be seen - be heard and BE YOURSELF!

    Happy day!
    1. lisleman
I guess since you are selling a product the bloggeries fee is justified but I'm not interested in paying a fee for their service.
  15. thecollegewarrior
how do you check the number of visitors from google? can you check the keywords too that lead you to your site
    1. LaMirabelle
Yes. I have 0 visitors (checked by my host's stats). What do you mean "keywords" when you have 0 visitors from Google?
  16. wagerwitch
    CollegeWarrior --- My suggestion?

    Get SITEMETER

It's free -- Put it on your website - and you'll know where your last 100 visitors came from.

    It's a very effective tool.

If you want to see mine in action click on my website - Ignore the gambling stuff - scroll to bottom - click on VISITORS and that number - it will take you to my sitemeter stats - and it will show you the last 100 generated visitors - and it will tell you INDEPTH info on them.

Kinda scary - but way cool - all the same.

    WW

ALSO --- GOOGLE will tell you UNDER WEBMASTER TOOLS --- which keywords are being used to get to your site. USE the TOOLS section extensively - read it... Worship it... LOL!

    WW
    1. LaMirabelle
Again. What "keywords" when you have 0 visits???
  17. LaMirabelle
Thanks everybody for your help. I wish I could find what's wrong
The problems started with Google's last change in algorithm in March.
    1. LaMirabelle
Ok it's getting better now. Don't know how or why...
  18. liaochiling
Just continue promoting it ... and use good set of keywords
