Anyone have any suggestions fo someone just starting out blogging?

The absolute best advice in the blogging world.
Have a point of view, make it interesting.
Unless you're writin a diary my friend, the normal daily grind that everyone goes through, is not a topic for a post.

Hi! I noticed on your blog you indicated you're a writer by training, so if I might make a suggestion--

one great way of getting people into your blog posts is one you probably already learned in terms of journalistic articles, too-- "Have a hook." A little spin that makes what you're sharing stand out and will catch your readers attention and draw them in.

If you think of each post as a contained mini-article with a hook and theme, it might give you some momentum and help you with your niche.

10 quick tips off the top of my head

1. Good writing
2. Daily forum posts
3. Join social networks
4. Add images to your posts
5. Make sure you have your facts straight
6. Define a good niche
7. Come up with a consistent and easy to navigate design
8. Spend hours and hours on BC
9. Set up your blog to be pinged by Technorati
10. Get to know Digg, stumbleupon, reddit, del.icio.us

Welcome to blogging!

I've just started to blog as well. The best piece of advice I can share is to write about what inspires you and/or what you're passionate about. Your readers will be able to tell if the post was forced. Inject your thoughts, feelings, and opinions in every post you write.

Also, don't get discouraged if you're not getting a lot of hits. From what I've read and I am starting to see, building and audience for your blog takes time. Keep posting articles, browse and leave insightful comments on other blogs and eventually people will visit.

You must have to add descryption and keywords, what will make Your blog visible for search engines like Google. It very simple to add that, look at online-income-opportunities-vorsta.blogspot.com/2009/02/meta-tags-are-ident...

If you are new to blogging and haven't done so yet, you will need to get a Google web masters account, generate and submit a site map, and register with search engines.
